Badashanren, formerly known as Zhu Da (1626- 1705), was born in Nanchang, Jiangxi, the sixteenth son of Zhu Yuanzhang, the Ming emperor, and the ninth grandson of Zhu Quan, the king of Xining, Jiangxi. After entering Qing Dynasty, he lived in seclusion for a long time as a Taoist priest in Qingyunpu Scenic Resort Taoist Academy. Badashanren was a famous painter and calligrapher in the Qing Dynasty, and also one of the four eminent monks [Hong Ren, Shi Tao, Xi Shi, Badashanren] in the early Qing Dynasty. Badashan people specialize in ink painting and are good at calligraphy and poetry. His landscape and flower-and-bird paintings are magnificent, meaningful and unique. Flower-and-bird painting is mainly based on ink freehand brushwork, with bold and unrestrained brushwork, vigorous and graceful, and carefree. Objects are often personified, entrusted with personal feelings or given meaning, with distinctive personality and extraordinary brushwork. Dong Qichang, a master of landscape painting, is concise in brushwork and quiet in interest. His loneliness reveals the heroic and simple momentum in the desolate and silent realm, which reflects his lonely and resentful mood and determined character. His donation is "Badashanren", and the couplet looks like "crying" or "laughing". Poetry and postscript are subtle, painful and wild, and they are written on paper. The flower-and-bird painting style of Badashan people can be divided into three periods. Before the age of 50, it is prophase, it is prophase. It paid for Biography, Mountain, Donkey and Human Bookstore, and painted many fruits and vegetables, flowers and pine plums, most of which were books. The picture is more exquisite and powerful. From the age of 50 to 65, the painting style gradually changed, and I like to paint fish, birds, grass insects and animals. The image is exaggerated, and the mouths and eyes of birds and animals are mostly square, with oval faces, large and small, and are on the verge of extinction. A bird lives with one foot and hangs with the other. After the age of 65, it will be late, and the art will become more and more mature. The brushwork became Park Mao Xiongwei, and the shape was extremely exaggerated. Fish and birds' eyes turn around a little, and their eyes lean against the rim of their eyes, looking like "supercilious" Wang Xianzhi, a calligrapher of Eight Mountains, has a unique style, lofty artistic conception, concise meaning and strong generalization ability. There are often some unexpected structural shapes in his works. Later generations commented on Badashan people: "The ink paintings written are out of line and the natural posture is beyond step, which can be unprecedented for a generation."
