He also said, "both the East Palace and the princes wrote books like this, covering the only major event they have seen since the Tang, Song and Ming Dynasties!" Of course, Yongzheng is praised here. According to Yang Jizhai's Legacy, during the Yongzheng period, Emperor Kangxi appreciated his calligraphy and asked him to write a fan every year.
