In the history of China, the emperor, as the supreme ruler of the country, has supreme power, but they are also parents. The emperor's mother can be called the empress dowager and his father can be called the emperor's father.

There are many queens in history, but few emperors have fathers. After all, the emperor's seat is still very comfortable, and no one wants to get off it. In most cases, the former emperor died before his successor came to power. Generally, there are two situations in which the emperor's father will appear. One is that the emperor's father used to be the emperor, but for various reasons he abdicated and let his son succeed him. The other is that he has never been an emperor, but only by the light of his son.

1. Liu Taigong

Liu Taigong is the father of Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang, and the only person in China history who did not become the emperor's father as a monarch. He was the first person in the world to be honored as the father of the emperor. After Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang proclaimed himself emperor, he went to see his father Liu Taigong, but felt that it was inappropriate for his father to salute himself, so he regarded Liu Taigong as the emperor's father.

2. Jin Huidi Sima Zhong

Sima Zhong was the second emperor in the Western Jin Dynasty and the second son of Sima Yan, the fifth emperor in the Jin Dynasty. Because of his dementia, he didn't take office politically, which led to the Eight Kings Rebellion. Sima Lun, the king of Zhao, usurped the throne, honored Sima Zhong as the emperor's father, and went to prison. Later, Sima Lun was deposed, Sima Zhong was newly established, and was repeatedly held hostage, just like a puppet.

3. Tang Gaozu Liyuan

Li Yuan, the founding emperor of the Tang Dynasty, was born in a noble family in the Northern Zhou Dynasty. At the end of the Sui Dynasty, there was chaos in the world. He rose from Taiyuan to accept the abdication of Emperor Yangdi and founded the Tang Dynasty. His son Li Shimin launched the Xuanwumen mutiny, seized the position of the Crown Prince, and forced Tang Gaozu to abdicate, so he became the emperor himself. In this way, Tang Gaozu became the emperor's father.

4. Li Dan, Tang Ruizong

Li Dan is the fourth son of Wu Zetian and Tang Gaozong Li Zhi. After Wu Zetian abolished Tang Zhongzong and Li Xian, she took control of the state affairs and made Li Dan emperor. Later, she abolished Li Dan herself and became emperor. It was not until Li Dan's son Li Longji launched the political revolution in the Tang Dynasty that he became emperor again. Li Dan became emperor and named Li Longji as the Prince. Because he can be emperor again, Li Longji played an important role, so the father and son fought for power and profit. Finally, Li Dan had to meditate in Li Longji, and he became the emperor's father.

5. Tang Xuanzong Li Longji

Li Longji, the third son of Tang Ruizong Li Dan, was politically enlightened at the beginning of his succession and reached its peak in the Tang Dynasty. In his later years, Li Longji began to indulge himself in Yang Guifei's extravagant life, which led to the political chaos of the country and eventually the Anshi Rebellion broke out. Before the rebels occupied Chang 'an, Li Longji and Yang Guifei fled hastily. Mutiny in Maweipo, killing Yang, forcing Yang Guifei to hang, and then fleeing to Chengdu. At the time of crisis, Prince Hengli succeeded to the throne and saved the Tang Dynasty. After that, Hengli took control of the state power, and Li Longji had to abdicate, so he was called the emperor's father.

6. Song Huizong Evonne

During Song Huizong's reign, he was politically corrupt and indifferent to state affairs. Cai Jing, Tong Guan and other traitors were in power, which led to public grievances. There are big Liao and big Jin outside. However, Song Huizong is quite accomplished in calligraphy, creating a thin gold body, and many famous works have been handed down in the world. In the seventh year of Xuanhe, Nomads marched south to Kaifeng, Kyoto. When Zhao Zhao Ji heard the news, he fainted with fear. When he woke up, he immediately ordered Prince Zhao Huan to be the emperor, and he became the father of the emperor, thinking that he could enjoy his old age. Who would have thought that in the first year of Jingkang, the nomads from the army captured Kaifengfu and Song Huizong and Song Qinzong? At this point, the second emperor began a humiliating exile.

7. Song Gaozong Zhao Gou

Zhao Gou, the ninth son of Song Huizong, was the founding emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty. After the change of Jingkang, he proclaimed himself emperor in Nanjing and established the Southern Song Dynasty. Zhao Gou had only one son in his life and died at the age of three. In the thirty-second year of Shaoxing, Zhao Gou, who had been emperor for thirty-six years, passed it on to his adopted son, Zhao Shen Song Xiaozong, claiming to be the emperor's father, and it took another twenty-five years to die.

8. Song Xiaozong Zhao Shen

Zhao Shen is the adopted son of Zhao Gou, Song Gaozong. During his reign, he reused the virtuous minister to rehabilitate Yue Fei and actively advocated the Northern Expedition to recover lost ground. After Zhao Gou's death, Zhao Shen was very sad, so he kept mourning for the Emperor. In the third year, He Chan, who had been emperor for 27 years, was located in Zhao Dun, Song Guangzong. He claimed to be the emperor's father, and died after five years.

9. Song Guangzong Zhao Dun

Zhao Dun is the third son of Zhao Shen, Song Guangzong, and Guangzong Zen settled in Zhao Dun in his later years. Zhao Dun made some achievements in his early years, but he was henpecked, which led to the harem's interference in politics. After five years of Zhao Dun's reign, Zen was located in Zhao Kuo, the second son.

10. Zhu Qizhen, Ming Yingzong

Zhu Qizhen was the eldest son of Zhu Zhanji, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty in the Ming Dynasty. Zhu Zhanji died young and made young Zhu Qizhen emperor. During his reign, eunuch Wang Zhen was in favor, which led to the eunuch's authoritarian power. Valla also led his troops south in the name of Wang Zhen's reduction of deductions, invaded the border and threatened Beijing. In the eighth year of Jingtai, Zhu Qiyu was seriously ill, and Zhu Qizhen launched the change of seizing the door and ascended the throne of the emperor again.

1 1. Li Hong of Emperor Gaozong in Qing Dynasty

Aisingiorro Li Hong is the fourth son of Yong Zhengdi. After Yong Zhengdi's death, Shuntian succeeded to the throne, and his title was Qianlong. In the early days of his reign, he enjoyed economic development and social prosperity, but in his later years, he was corrupt in official management and closed to the outside world, which opened the gap between China and the West. Emperor Qianlong always admired his grandfather Emperor Kangxi and thought he was a perfect old man. He thought that his reign time could not exceed that of his grandfather Kangxi. So after 60 years of Qianlong, Zen was located in Yongyuan, Aisingiorro, claiming to be the emperor's father, but he was still in charge of state affairs until his death.
