Graduated from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 1962. He has successively served as Chairman of Xinji Artists Association, Dean of Xinji Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Vice Chairman of Xinji Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Vice Chairman of Shijiazhuang Artists Association, Director of Hebei Province Landscape Painting Research Association, Distinguished Painter of Hebei Province Painting Academy, and member of China Artists Association. For decades, Li Dongxu has systematically researched and carefully discussed Chinese paintings (landscapes, figures, flowers and birds), calligraphy, and poetry with amazing perseverance and tenacity, and accumulated rich theoretical knowledge and creative experience. In recent years, the painter has mainly focused on the creation of landscape paintings. His works are rich and meaningful, and are both elegant and popular. It contains profound traditional skills and is filled with a strong flavor of the times.
