Use a pen-direct drawing according to the front to quickly pull the disease;
Pen gesture-vigorous and bright, turning around and leading vertically;
Stroke-the tip of the tongue is hard, calm and heavy;
Word state-the potential is clever and dense, and it is heroic.
Such induction, with the help of predecessors' terminology, seems somewhat abstract and vague. Here, try to further elaborate from the following three aspects:
1? On one side of the joint. Wang Shu's structure is "oblique and tight knot", especially his cursive script. Due to the vertical introduction of gestures, the relationship between parts is great, the height is scattered, the characters are sideways and full of emotional appeal. Although the cursive script in the Western Jin Dynasty has been tilted, its structure is a "wide knot" with a "horizontal tilt", which cannot be compared with the "tight knot" of Wang Shu's "side". Yang Xin of the Southern Dynasties said, "Zhang? Wisdom? The font is not as good as the right army ",which is Wang Shu's" archaism "of defeating Zhang Zhi with" today's beauty ".One of the most prominent features of" today's beauty "is the side of bearing fruit.
2. The strokes are drawn vertically. The so-called "vertical quotation" means that the last stroke of the upper word is triggered by the first stroke of the lower word, and the strokes between words are connected to form an implicit film. The writing style of Wang Xizhi's cursive and running script is to follow the trend, and the vertical-collar and vertical-flying brushwork is the connection between words, thus breaking through the old method that cursive and running script take a single word as the modeling unit, changing the mood of some strokes and their combinations, resulting in the "word group structure", and the "shaping" function of brushwork is highlighted.
3 pen is bright and concise. At the end of the Han Dynasty, Zhao Yi mocked Zhang Zhi's disciple Jiang Xu? Meng Ying and Liang Xuan? Kunda cursive script "does not think about simplicity" and "is difficult but late". Wang Xizhi's brushwork is "straight to the front, quick and quick", and he has got the purport of "easy and quick" in sketching. He writes regular script with "direct quotation", which is simpler than Zhong You's flipping.
The reason why Wang Xizhi's modern style is so popular is that his "charming" posture is beautiful and caters to the social fashion of "loving beauty and being thin", which has been discussed by predecessors. In my opinion, the reason why Wang Shu spread quickly in the Eastern Jin Dynasty is that Wang Xizhi's pen is concise and easy to copy. On this point, calligraphers of all ages did not say a word, probably because the atmosphere of "deifying" Wang Xizhi's calligraphy obscured people's thinking.
