Bada Shanren, Mingning clan clan, Haorenwu. "Human house" means "a vast building with thousands of rooms". Sexually withdrawn, unique and unique. He was able to write poems at the age of eight, was good at calligraphy, was good at seal engraving, and was especially good at painting. Try to write a branch of lotus root (ㄏㄢˋHANㄉㄢˋdan) [1]. In the half-open pond, the fallen leaves are peeling off, leaning across the water, and the business is booming; in the hall, like a gentle breeze, the fragrance often fills the room. He also painted a dragon, which was meandering up and down across the space of ten feet, as if it was about to fly. If Ye Gong saw it, he would scream and run away. He is good at humor, loves to discuss, and is tireless in his eloquence. He has the ability to impress everyone.
My father, who is also good at calligraphy and painting, is well-known in Jiangyou, but he is mute and unable to speak. Jiashen's country fell, and his father died with him. The person in the house inherits his father's ambition, but he is also mute. Those on the left and right who are doing things all speak with their eyes in mind; if they are together, they will nod, otherwise they will shake their heads. Greeting guests with their hands, listening to people talk about past and present events, and feeling at ease with each other, they smile dumbly. After more than ten years of this, he abandoned his family and became a monk, calling himself "Snow Ge". Not long after he became ill, he fell to the ground and sobbed at first, then looked up to the sky and laughed. After laughing, he suddenly jumped up and down, screamed and cried bitterly. Some are singing loudly with their bellies bulging, or dancing in the market. In one day, they are in all sorts of different situations. People in the city hate it and disturb it, and if they are drunk, they will stop. When he was more than a year old and sick, he changed his name to "Geshan". Then he rubbed his head and said, "I am a monk, why can't I be named a donkey?" Then he changed his name to "a mountain donkey."
A few years later, both his wives died. Or it is said: "Beheading the ancestors to sacrifice is not the reason for being the descendant of others. Aren't you fearless?" The mountain donkey then generously raised his hair to find a wife, and named him "Bada Shanren". He said: "Of the eight great ones, in all directions and in every corner, I am great, but none is greater than me." The mountain man is addicted to alcohol and has no other hobbies. People love their pen and ink, so they often put wine to use it. It is preset that several liters of ink and several pieces of paper are placed on the right side of the seat. See it when you're drunk. Then he happily splashed ink on it, occasionally sprinkled it with a broken broom, and painted it with a broken crown. The paper was full and dirty and could not be seen. Then I would draw a brush and render it, some into mountains and forests, some into hills and valleys, flowers, birds, bamboos and rocks, all of which are wonderful. If you love books, you will hold your arms and pipes, shout and shout wildly, and write dozens of paintings at once. When I wake up, I can't get the scrap of paper I want, but I can't get it. Although there are hundreds of gold coins in front of me, don't look at it. It's like this.
Wai Shi said: "How beautiful is Shanren's fruit? Why is his pen and ink so majestic? I have read Shanren's poems and paintings, and they have the spirit of people from the Tang and Song Dynasties. As for calligraphy, it is as old as the Jin and Wei Dynasties." When I asked the people in my hometown, they all said that they were drunk, but they were drunk."
Translation
Bada Shanren was the clan of Ning Fan in the Ming Dynasty, and his name was Renwu. "人屋" means "a vast building with thousands of rooms". He is aloof by nature, has backbone, and is extremely intelligent, unmatched by anyone. He was able to compose poetry at the age of eight, was good at calligraphy, seal cutting, and especially good at painting. I once painted a lotus, half-open in the pond, with scattered fallen leaves, leaning across the water, full of vitality; hanging it in the hall, it seemed as if a breeze was blowing slowly, and the fragrance often filled the whole room. He once painted a dragon, winding up and down across the canvas, as if it was about to fly off the paper; if Ye Gong saw it, he would definitely scream in surprise and go away. He was witty in speech, liked to discuss, always talked eloquently, and was tireless. He once made everyone in the four houses fall in love with him.
His father, XX, was also good at calligraphy and painting, and was well-known in the western region of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. However, he was mute and could not speak. In the Jiashen year, the Ming Dynasty fell and his father died. Renwu inherited his father's will and also pretended to be mute and refused to speak. The people who followed him and were ordered to do things all gave him signals with their eyes. If it was to his liking, Renwu would nod his head. If it was not to his liking, Renwu would shake his head. He expressed greetings to the guests with his hands, listened to people talking about ancient and modern things, and laughed silently when he heard something he understood. After more than ten years of this, he left his family to become a monk and took the nickname "Xue Ge". It didn't take long for him to become insane. At first, he lay on the ground and cried softly. After a while, he looked up to the sky and laughed. After laughing, he suddenly started jumping again, howling loudly and crying bitterly. Sometimes they bang their bellies and sing loudly, sometimes they dance wildly in the market. Within a day, the states of madness varied. The people in the market didn't like his disturbance, so they made him drunk with wine, and his madness stopped. More than a year later, his condition improved and he was renamed "Geshan".
Not long after, he stroked his head and said, "I've become a monk, why not name him donkey?" So he changed his name to "Ge Mountain Donkey".
A few years later, his wife and children died. Someone said to him: "Cut off the sacrifices to ancestors. This is something that future generations should not do. Aren't you worried?" The mountain donkey grew his hair with emotion and wanted to marry a wife and have offspring. He was also nicknamed "Bada Shanren". He himself said: "The so-called eight great things mean that in all directions, I am the greatest, and there is no one greater than me." Shanren only likes drinking and has no other hobbies. People liked his paintings, and most of them bought wine for him to paint, and prepared several liters of ink and some paper in advance. When the mountain man saw it after being drunk, he happily splashed ink on the large drawing paper, sometimes sweeping it with a broken broom and smearing it with a broken hat, making the paper dirty and unsightly. Then he used his pen to render them, some of them turned into mountains and forests, some turned into hills and valleys, some turned into flowers, birds, bamboos and rocks, all of which were wonderful. If you encounter him who wants to write, just roll up your sleeves, stretch out your arms, pick up the pen, scream and yell, and dozens of calligraphy and paintings are completed in a moment. When he sobered up, he couldn't get even a piece of paper or a word from him. Even if a hundred pieces of gold were placed in front of him, he would not care. He was so crazy.
Some people say: "Is Shanren really crazy? Why is his pen and ink so majestic? I once read Shanren's poems and paintings, and I thought they were very bold and powerful. As for calligraphy, it is He came from the Wei and Jin Dynasties. People who asked about him said that those paintings and calligraphy came from his drunkenness. Alas, his drunkenness can be compared, but his madness cannot be compared!
