For Lin Cunzhen, the final selection of this design is a milestone for her to combine the "grand slam" of the Olympic Games-Beijing Olympic Games, Nanjing Youth Olympic Games and Beijing Winter Olympics. The designs of the three Olympic emblems came from her hands.
What's more worth mentioning is that she is also the designer of the emblem of Beijing's bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics. During the Olympic bid, Lin Cunzhen designed the bid emblem with China's calligraphy "Winter" as the main body, which skillfully combined abstract slideways, snow and ice sports patterns with calligraphy, and people and calligraphy were integrated into one. The two points under the word "winter" merge into 2022, which is vivid and natural.
Emblem Style of 2022 Winter Olympics
Inspired by the Chinese character "Winter", the emblem of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics combines the rich oriental cultural heritage with the international modern style by using the artistic form of China calligraphy, presenting a new image and new dream of China in the new era, and conveying China's unremitting efforts to run the Beijing Winter Olympics well, realize the goal of "300 million people participating in the ice and snow sports", promote the development of the world ice and snow sports and make new contributions to the international Olympic movement in the new era.
The upper part of the emblem shows the shape of skaters, while the lower part shows the heroic attitude of skiers. The dance lines in the middle are smooth and rhythmic, representing the rolling hills, stadiums, snow slides and festive ribbons in the venue, adding a festive visual feeling to the emblem and symbolizing that the Beijing Winter Olympics will be held during the Spring Festival in China.
The emblem is dominated by blue, symbolizing dreams and the future, and also symbolizing the brightness and purity of ice and snow. Red and yellow are derived from the national flag of China, representing the passion, youth and vitality of sports.
