Weng Fan, born in Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province in July 1976, is the wife of physicist Yang Zhenning. After graduating from Shantou University, Weng Fan first worked for a company in Shantou, but Weng Fan left that company more than a month later and went to work at a golf club in Shenzhen.

She worked in Shenzhen for 3 years. Weng Fan applied for graduate school and was admitted to the master's class of the Translation Department of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. In 2011, Weng Fan enrolled in the Department of Architecture at Tsinghua University to pursue a doctorate in architectural history.

Social Deeds

The anthem of the 16th Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010 is "Reunion" composed by Xu Rongkai. "Reunion" is an English lyric translated by Yang Zhenning and Weng Fan.

On August 26, 2016, the National Art Museum of China accepted social donations: Mr. Yang Zhenning and Ms. Weng Fan donated Xiong Bingming’s sculptures and Mr. Zhu Yilong donated Yu Youren’s calligraphy works. The donation ceremony was held at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing. The famous scientist Yang Zhenning and his wife attended the donation ceremony, which was presided over by Wu Weishan, director of the National Art Museum of China.

On the same day, at a simple but grand donation ceremony, Yang Zhenning and his wife Wengfan donated three fine sculptures of Xiong Bingming's "Penholder", "Camel" and "Horse" to the National Art Museum of China. The works blended Chinese freehand brushwork Spiritual and western abstract composition.
