Zuo Qi's Work in the War of Liberation

During the War of Liberation, Zuo Qi served as deputy political commissar and commander of the Fifth Military Division of the Jinsui Military Region and director of the Political Department of the Second Column of the Northwest Field Army. He conscientiously carried out the instruction of President Mao Zedong that "the People's Liberation Army will always be a fighting team, a working team and a production team" and carried out a series of fruitful work in southern Xinjiang. After the founding of New China, he was transferred to the post of Deputy Political Commissar and Director of Political Department of Xinjiang Military Region. He has lived, worked and fought in Xinjiang for more than 20 years and made important contributions to the construction of Xinjiang. He was awarded the rank of major general in 1955.

When Zuo Qi lost his right arm, he not only fought tenaciously and worked hard, but also studied and wrote day and night. From the day he was injured and amputated, he made up his mind to take care of himself and practice calligraphy. He often forgets to eat and sleep, writes and practices calligraphy, and I don't know how many times he fainted and wrestled. Finally, he became a left-handed calligrapher of China People's Liberation Army. 1989, his name was listed in the Who's Who of China Painting and Calligraphy Seal Carving.
