With the increase of communication, my understanding of Li Shiyu, a young calligrapher, is also deepening. He is clever, diligent and studious. When I first met him, he introduced himself, started a small business and learned to write in his spare time. Over time, I realized that he had devoted himself to calligraphy. The original small business stopped because of this. It can be said that he has an almost obsessive pursuit of calligraphy. He did everything possible to worship famous teachers, visit book friends, attend training and book fairs, spend a lot of time in Linchi, and concentrate on the words "big and small" in order to spread the essence of ancient famous artists without losing his own style, and even pursue the artistic charm of beauty, boldness and elegance. To this end, he expanded the cultural connotation in many ways and went to famous schools to learn historical and cultural knowledge. He spends a lot of time for his friends and likes to stand for hours. He also learned to paint and carve jars ..... full of energy. In all these cases, the central point is still the growing pursuit of calligraphy. What is rare is that he has a sincere heart, studies hard and is honest with himself and others. Although he was praised, he clearly evaluated his stage and maintained a learning attitude. Once, I took him to a calligraphy expert's house, and I saw that he listened to Mr. Wang's opinion very devoutly and repeatedly asked for word-for-word criticism. After listening, put aside the original work to be exhibited and continue to work hard. He also has a kind heart. He auctioned calligraphy works for welfare, and the proceeds were used to help the poor. He spent a lot of money on the construction of Buddhist temples and worked tirelessly.
Li Shiyu's artistic achievements and influence today have been affirmed and encouraged by his predecessors and praised by his fellow calligraphers. What is more commendable is that he is young and has considerable artistic potential. China's calligraphy art is the treasure of our nation. After a period of twists and turns in modern times, it has now formed the momentum of revival. Among many calligraphy artists and pursuers, Li Shiyu is on the right path. Why? In my opinion, he honestly inherited the precious calligraphy art wealth of his ancestors, studied hard, wrote hard, and did not take shortcuts or go astray. He combined the pursuit of calligraphy art with the improvement of personal quality, emphasizing not only calligraphy but also various cultures; Not only rewrite, but also rewrite people. In my opinion, Shiyu has his advantages, but it is not perfect. I often think that he is impatient because he is not clever. In today's world, it is not easy to make a living, and it is inevitable that there will be hardships, setbacks and frustrations. As a friend, I suggested that he should combine motion and static, especially arrange to calm down and concentrate on practicing calligraphy. I very much agree with the inscription given to Li Shiyu by the famous artist Mr. Yang Zhiguang: "Accumulate a lot and build up a thin hair". I suggest that Shiyu hang up these four words, understand their meaning, and always carry them out!
