Zhang Zhixiang, born in 1943, with the courtesy name Yun, pen name Wenchangshanren, and the pseudonym Yunxiang Jushi, is from Fengnan, Hebei. Graduated from Lanzhou Polytechnic College. He is a member of the Anhui Provincial Calligraphers Association, a member of the World Association of Calligraphers and Painters, a member of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Association, a director of the Chinese Youth Calligraphers Association, a director of the Jiangsu Huaihai Calligraphy Research Association, a member of the (International) Chinese Calligraphers Association, and a director of the Chinese Calligraphy Art Research Institute.
