What does it mean to ask Yu He how comfortable he is and to print "Spring of Flowers" with a full moon in his heart?

Since the beginning of this year, many monks and laymen in Buddhism have shown silence.

This spring, we lost 95-year-old monk Guang Qin and 97-year-old Buddhist in Li Bingnan.

In summer, 86-year-old Elder Huisan sat in the forest Fuhui Temple, 84-year-old monk Xiandun died peacefully in Taipei Linji Temple, and 68-year-old cloud-boiling exorcist died in Fengshan Buddhist Lotus Society.

These people have made great contributions to Buddhism, and their personal practice is rigorous and extraordinary. Although their silence is the loss of Buddhism in Taiwan Province Province, it is nothing more than a natural process from the point of view of Buddhism's impermanence of life and death and short life.

It is worth noting that these eminent monks and great virtues all predicted the arrival of time and left their world in a very peaceful situation. The boiling cloud exorcist predicted his death time 20 days before his death; Elder Huisan predicted his arrival two days ago and told his disciples to cooperate with each other in practice in the future. On the day of his death, he was still reading classics, taking a shower and sitting on the sofa with his hands crossed.

In addition to predicting the arrival of time, the old monk Guangqin and the old layman in Li Bingnan also left a poem, which was handed down by people. Old monk Guangqin said to his disciples before he died, "Nothing, nothing." The last sentence should be pronounced in Taiwanese as nothing to remember. ) Li Bingnan's poem is simpler, and it is "one mind is not chaotic"

Seven buddha's legacy

Some intellectuals saw a report in the newspaper and asked me, "Why did they practice for decades and leave such simple words?"

Yes! This poem is so simple that children can read it. A generation of eminent monks and great virtues have studied and practiced all their lives. Why didn't they leave such a simple poem when they left a sentence at the end?

It is not only the poems left by the great monk Dade, but also the poems left by the Buddha, which seems simple. Now let's look at the poem left by the former Buddha:

Which female corpse Buddha:

Born out of nothingness, like an imaginary image;

Without the illusion of human knowledge, everyone is not afraid to live in sin and happiness.

Abandon Buddha:

Good laws are illusory, and evil deeds are illusory;

Body like foam, heart like wind, no root and no reality.

Vishnu Buddha:

Under the guise of the four great minds, there is no reason for the existence of the heart;

If there is no master in front, sin and happiness are illusory and will disappear.

Sun Ke's detention:

Seeing that the body is not real is the Buddha's body, and the emptiness is the Buddha's heart;

What's the difference between a Sri Lankan and a Buddha for the sake of emptiness?

Arrest Munifo:

A Buddha knows he is a Buddha without looking at himself. If he does, there is no Buddha.

A wise man knows the emptiness of sin and is not afraid of life and death.

Buddha:

All beings are pure, and there is no life;

It is this body and mind that are illusory, and there is no sin in illusion.

Sakyamuni Buddha:

Law can't, and law can't be law;

How do you use the law when you can't pay back the money today?

Do the remains of these seven buddhas look simple? However, this simplicity is that "three-year-olds know that 80-year-olds can't do it" and "there is a deep meaning in it, and I have forgotten what I want to say."

It can be seen from seven buddha's legacy that "temperament" is indeed a major feature of Buddhism. Melody is a poem written by Buddhists, which can be divided into "general melody" and "other melody". Bie Melody is the man who makes four sentences out of five words. "Luo" has two meanings, one is to praise it with beautiful words, and the other is to grasp the best meaning.

When Buddhism was introduced into China, when the gods flourished, it can be said that "melody" became a brilliant form, leaving a melody not only when they realized the Tao, when they praised it, when they relaxed and repented, but also when they died. These poems with great Zen virtues in past dynasties are not just China literature.

Poems left by the Zen master at his deathbed are called "legacy poems". Theoretically speaking, the poem should be the essence of poetry, because when the Zen master shows his silence, even if he has a high literary accomplishment, he will not say it in gorgeous sentences, because the poem has the function of demonstration, enlightenment and warning. If we can look back at the legacy of Zen masters in past dynasties, we can see the essence of spirit and realm in the simplest words.

The legacy of the old monk Guangqin should be treated in this way.

Virtual Cloud and Hongyi

In order to let us see the spirit of heritage more clearly, let's look at the silence of nearly four eminent monks. The four eminent monks are Xu Yun, Hongyi, Yin Guang and Taixu.

Monk Xu Yun was a Zen monk in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Daoguang was born in Yin Shi on July 29th in the 20th year (A.D. 1840). In a.d. 1958, he lay on his auspicious bed as a sign of silence and lived for 120 years.

When the monk Xu Yun died, he said to his disciples:

Practice wisdom hard, stop greed and stop stupidity.

And warned his disciples: "Mindfulness is the right way, cultivate the fearless spirit and do the best in the world!" "

Not long after he learned his life story in August that year, he left three poems, which were part of his legacy. I recorded one of them here:

Please be considerate of all couples, and live and die, such as silkworm self-knot;

Greed is insatiable, and trouble is good for suffering. If you want to get rid of this, paying is the first;

Network to participate in the three studies, adhere to the four thoughts, once suddenly enlightened, you will know the electricity;

Recognizing the vacuum, all laws are one, there is no life, is it wave or water.

(Note: The three doctrines are abstinence, determination and wisdom; The four thoughts are to observe the body without struggle, to observe the suffering, to observe the impermanence of the mind and to observe the law without me. )

Monk Xu Yun is a man of practice. For his life and French, please refer to the Chronicle of Monk Xu Yun and the Collection of Buddhist Methods of Monk Xu Yun. His spiritual practice is very touching, but it is only a few words to restore his legacy. Careful study has pained women's hearts and realized the truth.

Master Hongyi is the most beautiful monk in literature since the Republic of China. He was born on September 20th (1880) in the sixth year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty, and died peacefully in Quanzhou on October 3rd (1942+ 13). He is 63 years old. Master Hongyi, commonly known as Li Shutong, was a peerless genius in his early years. He is not proficient in articles, poetry, music, seal cutting, art, calligraphy and drama. Becoming a monk in middle age, learning Nanshan Method and reviving precepts had a great influence on modern China. Master Hongyi's life works are very rich. After his death, the works of later generations include Chronicle of Master Hongyi, Fu of Master Hongyi, Lectures of Master Hongyi, etc., which shows his life.

Master Hongyi is famous for his literary talent, so his legacy is particularly wonderful. The last four words in his life are "the intersection of sadness and joy". When reading these four words, it really makes people feel sad and happy.

Guangyi expressed his silence on September 4th and predicted the time before his death. He wrote a suicide note and left messages for his lifelong friend Xia Mianzun and disciple Liu Zhiping.

His legacy is very elegant and beautiful;

A friendship between gentlemen is as light as water, and a thousand miles a day.

Ask Yu and Shi? Forget what to say, Man Chun of flowers, full moon of heart.

When we read this poem, "When spring is blooming, when the heart is satisfied, the bright moon is in the sky", and when we think of the ups and downs of Master Hongyi's life, we can grasp the essence of his personality and style. In addition to this famous poem, many poems written by Master Hongyi in his later years have the meaning of farewell, which is insignificant, and two poems are recorded here. The first song was that someone gave him a red chrysanthemum, and he wrote "Red Chrysanthemum" with emotion:

In the evening festival, an elegant chrysanthemum stands tall.

What color is the cloud? Martyrdom requires blood.

The other one is "Law Poetry" written for his master. Hongyi is a descendant of law school. From this poem, we can see his life experience in law enforcement. He wrote:

Fame and interests are loved by fools.

It will destroy good laws, such as people who behead with knives.
