Why do future generations complain about Zhao Mengfu's calligraphy?
Zhao Mengfu was honored as "Zhao Ti" by later generations for his skillful skills, and won a lofty position in the history of calligraphy. However, some people are critical of his calligraphy, such as Zhang Ye (Qing Fang): "Zi Ang's calligraphy is gentle and elegant. Far away, I received a message from the right army and handed it to me. It was charming and delicate, and I lacked the spirit of not taking it away. " Bao said: "Xing Wu's calligraphy and pen use are all devoted to fluency, one stroke, one painting, one word, one line, one stroke after another, as if everyone in the city passed by." No one is more critical than Fu Shan. He said that Zhao Mengfu's calligraphy was "smart", "charming", "fluent" and "well-organized", while Zhao Mengfu's calligraphy was "like a foal king without bones, with bad intentions and no hands to bind a chicken". This is an attack on Zhao Mengfu. Later generations' criticism of Zhao Mengfu mainly stems from his official positions in the Song Dynasty, namely, Bachelor of Hanlin and Doctor Rong Lu. So he thinks he is immoral and has a bad personality. This is a standard of ethical criticism, which is not enough. Besides, Meng Ke's being an official doesn't necessarily involve personality problem. Besides, he was recommended and had to do it. As far as the calligraphy museum is concerned, it is a calligraphy learning base. In addition, Zhao Mengfu's book is really charming and lacks masculinity, as Wang Qingwenzhi said in On Book Poetry: "I am angry and decadent, but I am proud of my standards, so I am strict. I was filled with bananas (honey) by my husband, but there is only sweetness in the middle."
