The Historical Evolution of Guangming Temple

In Tianwang Temple, a plaque inscribed by Shang Chengzuo, a famous calligrapher in Guangdong, is hung high, which makes people feel happy as soon as they enter the temple.

According to local records, there were Ma, Shi and Zheng in the village in the Yuan Dynasty, and then villagers with the names of Gao, Xu, Wu and Zhu settled here. Because they are located along the coast, most of the villagers are engaged in offshore fishing and ocean navigation, and their work is hard. In order to ensure safety, the villagers naturally gathered here to pray for Buddha. However, the temples in the Qing dynasty were relatively simple. Until liberation, there was only one small temple here. 1992 was greatly expanded, and 1996 was approved by the District Religious Affairs Bureau to open on April 30th. There are crowns and couplets inscribed by Wu Shengjun on both sides in front of the Ursa Major Hall, which are handsome and pleasing to the eye.
