It is also an encyclopedia for studying the history and culture of the Tibetan-dominated ethnic groups on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

According to reports, this set of "The Complete Works of King Gesar" went through a ten-year collection and organization process before publication. The content includes the historical manuscripts and terma of "King Gesar" , woodcut editions, printed editions, internal data editions, recently compiled folk editions, and various editions officially published in the past sixty years. Most of these versions come from remote rural pastures and monasteries, so it is very rare to be able to compile them. This masterpiece, which contains 370 epics and more than 80 million words, has become the most complete and comprehensive Tibetan library of "King Gesar" in the world so far.
