How to "write" correctly can refer to my previous article (the first step of soft pen calligraphy: how to write? )。 "Using a pen" refers to how to write with a brush after learning to write correctly. Then this includes several points: writing posture, starting and putting pen to paper, raising and receiving words, etc. This paper mainly introduces the basic methods of writing posture, starting and putting pen to paper.

Writing posture
The "writing posture" mentioned here does not mean how to hold the pen, but refers to the posture of the wrist and elbow.
There was a calligrapher named Chen Yizeng in the Yuan Dynasty. He wrote a little book about calligraphy: essence of Hanlin. In the first chapter "On Writing", three "writing postures" are listed: resting the wrist, lifting the wrist and hanging the wrist.
"Pillow wrist" means: pillow your right wrist with your left hand.
"Wrist-lifting" refers to: elbow-lifting and virtual wrist-lifting.
As the name implies, "hanging the wrist" means that the wrist and elbow are not on the case.
Among the above three postures, "lifting wrist" and "hanging wrist" are common in modern times, and "pillow wrist" is also seen in the network, but it is an example. "Pillow wrist" also uses handrails (mostly bamboo) to replace the left hand and pad it under the right wrist. It is mostly used to write small characters, and it is written with the power of fingers, which can not give full play to the role of wrist.

Xu Wei, a calligrapher in the Ming Dynasty, once wrote an article "On the Law of Governing the Country", which said: "If you want to straighten your wrist, you must do your best. ..... The ancients hung their wrists to try their best. Ancient people used this method for all characters, regardless of size. If you put your palm on (the table), your fingers will stick to the paper and you will have no strength. It is easy to be inaccurate. Finally, it is unhealthy. Wrist can stand upright. If the wrist is vertical, the front will be straight. Heads are heads, all around. Recently, my left hand was placed on the Zhuo, my right hand held the pen, and I pressed it on the back of my left hand. I walked back and forth freely, and my wrist hung consciously. This is today's hanging wrist, compared with ancient laws. But you can do fine print and Chinese characters and grass, and you must hang calligraphy on the truth and grass. If people are determined to compete with the ancients, they will hang their wrists, big or small, in order to seek the secrets of the ancients, but it seems that they cannot be vulgar. "
Wei Xu
Xu Wei put this passage very thoroughly. If he wants to "strive to compete with the ancients", he needs to use the writing posture of "hanging his wrist", because this posture can be as big as a book, and he can "send it with all his strength". Calligraphers in Yuan Dynasty were good at hanging their wrists. Chen Yi once wrote in "Hanlin Tips": "Hanging in the air is the most powerful. Nowadays, only thick-skinned people are good at hanging them in the doctor's office. " This passage shows that Chen Yi once recommended the writing posture of "hanging the wrist".

For beginners of calligraphy, the hanging arm is helpless, the pen will tremble in the air, and the words written will be particularly ugly, such as earthworm crawling, and the arm will be sour after a long time. This is because their arm strength is weak and they need long-term practice. But for friends who are interested in calligraphy, this process must be experienced. Stick to it, and the muscles in your arms will gradually increase their strength. Accustomed to this kind of action, the strokes will gradually become correct and powerful, and Fiona Fang can control them.
