Calligraphy learners have a better understanding of the deduction of Chinese characters. The simplification of Chinese characters in 1955 is a deletion of calligraphy in previous dynasties, which has caused a gap in understanding. For example, many children don't know the shape and meaning of the traditional Chinese character "Bao" in China. In the calligraphy works of past dynasties, some people wrote "Wang" as "jade", others wrote "Er" as "Er", and so on. In fact, as long as beginners master the basic shapes of traditional Chinese characters, other writing methods will never change.
Rational understanding of the phenomenon of "lack of pens", because of the particularity of calligraphy works, paper is expensive, and very few of them have really been handed down through cloth and silk. Instead, many works are carved on stones. Due to weathering, many characters have disappeared, and later, when rubbing, it naturally caused the phenomenon of lack of pens. But later scholars regarded this imperfection as an art form, which is not worth advocating. For example, a small author's writing style is "flowing", less than the above. You should know why if you know what it is. And now the material life is extremely rich, and paper products have entered people's families. Beginners don't need pens.
It is not recommended to practice cursive writing as a child. There are three cursive works in this exhibition, which are only in form but not in meaning. As you may know, the world's second running script "Sacrifice to a Nephew" was written by Yan Zhenqing, ranking second only to Wang Xizhi's "Preface to the Lanting Pavilion". The author is emotionally stable in front of him, and his writing is patchy. At the end of the article, he recalled that when his nephew Ji Ming was tragically killed by An Lushan, his grief and indignation were hard to suppress, and his writing style was strange and his deletion was clearly visible. With the skill of a beginner, of course, it is difficult to reach this artistic realm, and I often draw cats and tigers.
Beginners should take regular script as their religion. Speaking of regular script, I have to say that "Yan is fat and Liu is thin", pointing horizontally and paying attention to writing with a pen is the basic skill. As the saying goes, "if you don't practice, you will accomplish nothing", which is also the truth.
Some time ago, I went to Jinci, Shanxi Province, visited Fu Shan Memorial Hall, a thinker and artist in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, and took some works for everyone to enjoy.
