If you have Buddha in your heart, you will see people as Buddha; if you have shit in your heart, you will see people as shit. This is a story between Su Shi, a famous figure in the Song Dynasty, and Zen Master Foyin of Jinshan Temple. One day, Su Shi meditated with the Zen master. Su Shi asked the Zen master, "How is my meditation posture?" The other person replied: Very good, like a Buddha. The Zen master asked Su Shi | "How is my posture?" Su Shi replied teasingly, "You are like a pile of cow dung." The Zen master laughed and said nothing. Later, he told his sister Su Xiaomei, who said you lost, and the Zen master felt like Buddha, so he sees you as Buddha, but your heart is like cow dung, so you see the Zen master as cow dung.
