Why are there Wen Chibi and Wu Chibi? Is Red Cliff divided into civilian and military?

There is a saying in history that both Wen Chibi and Wu Chibi are in Hubei Province, Wen Chibi is in Huangzhou City, Hubei Province, and Wu Chibi is in chibi city, Hubei Province.

Wu Chibi was a well-known red cliff in Battle of Red Cliffs during the Three Kingdoms period, and Wen Chibi was the place where Su Dongpo later wrote the eternal word Niannujiao Chibi Nostalgia.

Wenchibi is located outside Hanchuan Gate in the northwest of Huangzhou, an ancient city. Yuping Mountain, Wang Longshan and Jubao Mountain are close to its northeast, and the Yangtze River surrounds its southwest. The rocks here are as prominent as city walls, bright red in color and prominent in shape, so they are also called Chibiji.

Huangzhou Chibi is famous for its beautiful scenery and magnificent weather. Su Shi, a great writer in the Northern Song Dynasty, was deeply moved when he visited this place. He wrote his famous works "Red Cliff Fu" and "Niannujiao Chibi Nostalgia", which made Huangzhou Chibi famous all over the world, so it was later called "Dongpo Chibi" or "Wenchibi".

Following in the footsteps of Su Shi, later literati left countless inscriptions on paintings and calligraphy here.

There are calligraphy stone inscriptions, cursive script "Niannujiao Red Cliff Nostalgia" and "Red Cliff Fu" which record Su Dongpo's calligraphy.

There are two other paintings by Su Shi: one is a plum blossom and the other is a birthday girl, both of which are embedded in the Broken Immortal Pavilion. In addition to Su Shi's calligraphy and painting inscriptions, Dongpo Laomei painted by Guo Fengyi in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty is also extremely precious.

Wu Chibi is located on the south bank of the Yangtze River, 36 kilometers northwest of chibi city, Hubei Province, across the river from Wulin. The cliff of Chibi set is engraved with the word "Chibi" in regular script.

In the 13th year of Jian 'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Battle of Red Cliffs broke out, and Liu Bei and Sun Quan joined hands to break Cao Cao's serial warships, which laid a solid foundation for the Three Kingdoms.

Wu Chibi consists of three hills: Chibi Mountain, Nanping Mountain and Jinluan Mountain. Climb the red cliff, the walls on both sides stand like mountains, and the river flows eastward. The vicissitudes of history, the grandeur of that year, seem to be just around the corner.

Today, many historical sites are still preserved in Chibi. In addition to the cliff on Chibi, Yue Bai Terrace is said to be the site of Seven Star Terrace when Zhuge Liang sacrificed to the east wind, and Feng Chu Temple is said to be the place where Pang Tong once lived in seclusion. Since ancient times, literati and poets have come here to mourn, and standing on the shore watching "flying stones are empty, waves are broken, and thousands of piles of snow are rolled up" can't help but make people sad.
