Dan Tao lost his father in his early years and his family was poor. As a teenager, I had the ability to distinguish myself from others. I like the theories of Zhuangzi and Laozi, and often live in seclusion in the countryside to cover up my ambitions and talents. He became friends with Ji Kang and Lu An, and later met Ruan Ji. He often makes friends in a bamboo forest with similar interests. Dan Tao recommended his friend Ji Kang to be an official, but Ji Kang didn't appreciate it. He also wrote a "Dear John's Chrysanthemum Garden", which disappointed Dan Tao. Ji Kang was later convicted of offending Sima's family. In 249 A.D. (the tenth year of Tai Chu), Sima Yi really launched the change of Gao Pingling and destroyed Cao Shuang Group, so Dan Tao retired and lived in the world.
Dan Tao is the oldest of the seven sages of bamboo forest. He joined the bamboo forest celebrity because of his personal charm.
