Lick the paper gently with the tip of your tongue. If water only seeps into the paper, but it doesn't spread out, or it just spreads out in a small amount at a very slow speed, it is semi-cooked rice paper.
There are also many kinds of semi-cooked rice paper, including leather paper, meta-book paper and boiled hammer paper. The draft paper we practice calligraphy can be classified as half-cooked. Ancient landscapes are generally painted with semi-cooked paper, and semi-cooked rice paper is suitable for writing calligraphy and painting landscapes.
