The original text and translation of Wang Xizhi's Preface to the Holy Teaching of Huairenji are as follows:

I. Original text

Gavin's second instrument has an image, which obviously contains life repeatedly; I can't see it at four o'clock, and the latent cold and summer heat will melt away. It is based on a glimpse of heaven and earth, and fools know its end; Yin Ming Dong Yang, Tessa is poor. However, those who are easy to know because of the yin and yang of heaven and earth are all alike; Yin and yang are in heaven and earth, and the poor are invisible. Therefore, it is obvious that image can be levied, although it is stupid; You can't see the shape, but you are still fascinated by wisdom.

Second, translation.

1, I heard that heaven and earth are tangible and exposed to the outside can bear life; The four seasons have no shape, but there are hidden cold and heat to nourish everything. So watch some tangible things like heaven and earth, and ordinary people will know their clues; Knowing the intangible things of Yin and Yang, even Tessa can't exhaust its mystery.

2. However, heaven and earth contain yin and yang, which is easy to be identified because it is tangible; Yin and Yang exist between heaven and earth, which is inexhaustible, because there is no shape. Therefore, those whose shapes are obvious and can be verified, even the most stupid people will not be confused; And the shape is hidden, even smart people are hard to see.
