According to historical records, the earliest stone carving in Wuyishan is the inscription on Guopu in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, which has a history of 1700 years. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty inscribed Wuyishan as a famous mountain, with a big river in a lake with a pavilion. During the Northern Song Dynasty, two tablets of Huangguyan recorded religious events in which officials worshipped immortals, but both of them disappeared. After Lin 'an, the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, the political center moved south and Wuyi culture flourished. The cultures of Yuan, Ming, Qing, Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism are competing to be reflected in the dazzling cliff stone carvings.
Among hundreds of stone carvings, there are more than one cliff stone carving 10 written by Zhu. The inscription of Liu Gong Zi Yu Bei written by him is 3725 words long, which is the calligraphy treasure with the largest number of words in Zhu's handwriting handed down from generation to generation. Other treasures, such as the landscape stone carvings of Cai Shen (Jiu Feng), Ji Youji of Zhan Ruoshui (Ganquan), Ji Youzhi of Qi Jiguang in the Ming Dynasty, and Fang Yizhi (Wu Shi), a famous monk and monk in the early Qing Dynasty, are all on the same mountain.
There are more than 500 cliff stone carvings left over from Wuyishan history. Among them, there are more than 450 cliff stone carvings in past dynasties, which can be called the treasure house of ancient calligraphy art in China.
Cliff stone carvings in Wuyishan are located in Wuyishan, which have universal cultural value. Wuyishan belongs to Danxia landform, the rock mass is composed of gravel, and the cements are carbonate and clay, which are brittle and have low hardness. In addition, Wuyishan area belongs to the tropical climate of Central Asia, so it is more difficult to protect cliff stone carvings.
In 20 10, the management Committee of Wuyishan Scenic Area made a special project to monitor and protect the cliff stone carvings in Wuyishan, and UNESCO officials in China made a special demonstration and investigation on this, and listed it as a special protection project to provide protection fund support. According to this project, Wuyishan Scenic Area Management Committee cooperates with Shanghai Tongji University Historical Building Protection Technology Laboratory. The text coating of cliff stone carvings was studied scientifically. Through research and experiments, a reliable coating with small weathering, strong adhesion and bright colors was determined, so as to ensure that cliff stone carvings became a beautiful cultural landscape.
