Over the past 40 years, he has compiled five reference books on the Warring States writing, such as the Post-Mamoun Character List, which has made great contributions to the study of the Warring States writing in China.
Zhang Shouzhong was born in a noble family in the late Qing Dynasty. Since 1970s, he began to pay attention to the history of the late Qing Dynasty and made an in-depth investigation of his family history. He has compiled Zhang Letters Diary (China Literature and History Publishing House 1993) and Zhang Ink Selections (Hong Kong Dream Museum 2006), which provided new materials for the study of China's modern history.
Zhang Shouzhong loved calligraphy since childhood. When I was young, I studied the method of seal script from the famous calligrapher Deng Sanmu and copied ancient Chinese characters from the famous archaeologist Shang Chengzuo. He is one of the influential calligraphers inside and outside the province. In 2005, when he was 70 years old, Zhang Shouzhong's calligraphy exhibition was held in Hebei Provincial Museum. Since the new century, Shousu Collection and Zhangshouzhong Calligraphy Collection have been published.
