Introduction of Dongwutie

Su Shi (137-111) was born in Meizhou (now Meishan, Sichuan), and was named Dongpo Jushi. His life is a masterpiece of literature, calligraphy and painting, and his attainments are extremely high. He is a rare all-rounder in the history of China and one of the Song Sijia. In his books, he pursues Erwang, Yan Liu, Li Beihai and others, and delves deeply into the tradition. He uses his pen to take more lateral strokes, and his strokes are thick and precise, with a flat structure, and his body posture is low on the left and high on the right, forming a profound and simple style, emphasizing freehand brushwork and pursuing the cleverness of trusting hands, which is the representative of the Northern Song Dynasty's style of valuing calligraphy. His books are best at opening letters, lines and cursive script. Books handed down from ancient times include Huangzhou Cold Food Poem, Several Articles in Sacrifice to the Yellow River, Crossing the Sea Post, Sky Dark Cloud Post and so on.
