Zou Zhenya’s professional attainments

Since the 1950s, he has taught himself seal cutting. He first studied the Qi sect, and later entered the ancient seals of the Warring States period, seals of the Qin and Han Dynasties, and seal seals, as well as other schools in the late Qing Dynasty, especially Zhao Zhiqian and Huang Shiling. His seal carving skills are stable and precise, and his compositional layout has new ideas on the basis of adhering to tradition. His "Wei Jueyin Slough" has been published in the world. He studied calligraphy from Ou Liu and "Ling Fei Jing", and his painting was inspired by "Mustard Seed Garden Painting Book". After middle age, he was good at seal script writing and was good at bronze inscriptions. He used jade chopsticks and seal script to write large seal scripts and specialized in fine craftsmanship. Academically, he is committed to the study of ancient characters and ancient Shandong stele calligraphy. Have certain appreciation ability and research level for calligraphy, painting, seal cutting and epigraphy. Since 1984, he has hosted international academic activities such as the "Academic Symposium on Stone Carvings in Yunfeng Mountains", "A Symposium on Chinese Han Dynasty Stele Inscriptions and Calligraphy", and "A Symposium on Chinese Cliff Inscriptions and Calligraphy in Northern Dynasties". He presided over the editing of anthologies such as "Research on Han Steles", "Research on Cliff Carvings of the Northern Dynasties", "Research on Yunfeng Stone Carvings", etc., and published many papers. In 1988, at the invitation of the Japanese book circles, he led a delegation of calligraphers from Shandong Province to visit Japan. His work won the highest special award from the Japan White Fan Calligraphy Association. In 1999, he organized and established Shandong Seal Society and served as president. In 2001, he won the Chinese Calligraphy Art Honor Award from the Chinese Calligraphers Association. He is the author of books such as the literary collection "Wei Jue Broken Brushwork" and "An Overview of Shandong Ancient Calligraphy".
