Ouyang Xiu's Font Features

Ou Yangxun (557-64 1) was born in Linxiang County, Tanzhou (now Changsha City, Hunan Province). Tang dynasty minister and calligrapher. Son of Ouyang Yao. Ou Yangxun is proficient in calligraphy, and he is also called "the four outstanding figures in the early Tang Dynasty" with Yu Shinan, Chu Suiliang and Xue Qi.

Ou Yangxun's calligraphy is characterized by rigorous regular script and precipitous brushwork, which is unparalleled in the world. He is called the first regular script in Tang Dynasty. He and Yu Shinan were both famous for their calligraphy in the early Tang Dynasty, also known as "Ou Yu". Later generations saw the danger in the book, and they were the first to understand it.
