With the extensive attention of the superior leaders and all walks of life, many media in the provincial capital reported on the development of our school's calligraphy characteristics and gave high praise. In April this year, the Children's Department of CCTV also publicized and reported the calligraphy features of our school and students' paintings and calligraphy works with the column "Chinese Dream, the next great artist".

No.38 Middle School is a traditional sports school, which ranks among the best in the urban sports meeting. However, in order to make the school's characteristics more prominent and distinctive, it is necessary to create characteristics besides retaining them. President Xie responded to the Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Developing Calligraphy Education in Primary and Secondary Schools and started a "Calligraphy Characteristic Class". On May 3rd this year, No.38 Middle School was approved by the Municipal Education Bureau as a "school with calligraphy characteristics". Guo Xu, a professor of calligraphy at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and Wang Litao, a master of calligraphy, were invited as visiting professors, and Wei Bingran, chairman of the Municipal Calligraphy Association, and Hu Yongfa, secretary general of the Creation Committee of the Municipal Calligraphy Association, were invited as calligraphy lecturers. President Xie, the judge of Hebei Normal University's calligraphy college entrance examination, will also teach students in calligraphy class.
Through the joint efforts of teachers, students and staff, the quality of running a school in No.38 Middle School has been improved obviously in recent years. In the senior high school entrance examination last year, students with scores of112,500 were admitted by 35 students from No.1 Middle School and No.2 Middle School. The college entrance examination is even more gratifying: there are 8 undergraduates, 18 undergraduates, 206 undergraduates, and the online rate is 95%, especially for sports, art and other majors, and the online rate is 100%. Among them, Meng Weiming and Yang Shuai were admitted to China Renmin University and Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts respectively. This year, all the candidates majoring in calligraphy, fine arts and physical education in senior three of our school successfully passed the exam and achieved excellent results, among which the super fine arts major ranked second in the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
