Follow the true stories of ancestors, be diligent and thrifty;
Teach children and grandchildren to follow the right path, but study and plow.
He Zizhen, a writer and calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty, collected a pair of "competing for seats" couplets;
It is more frugal to enter WTO;
Accumulated virtues accumulate books and are passed down from generation to generation.
The above two family instruction couplets tell people that a good family needs to learn and update its knowledge in addition to diligent cultivation and caring for others.
Sun Jipu, another scholar in the Qing Dynasty, once wrote a couplet to his descendants, asking them to stick to honesty and poverty and strive to improve their moral cultivation.

Mr. Wang Xiangqi, a modern scholar, is knowledgeable and noble in character. He wrote a simple couplet for his family:
Perforated enough paper is very easy to make up;
Morality is the most difficult to repair.
Lin Zexu, a national hero in the late Qing Dynasty, once wrote a calligraphy training league, saying:
State affairs should be regarded as internal affairs;
Being able to do everything in your heart is Buddha's heart.
People don't want their homes to flourish, so it's a big public in the world to expand their hearts. If we can do our best, we can make up for it in the world, which is almost as beneficial to our family and our country as the bright Buddha heart in Zhan Ran.
The nephew of patriotic general Feng Yuxiang is going to the anti-Japanese front. General Feng is very excited. In order to encourage him to fight bravely, he personally wrote a couplet and asked his nephew to bring it:
The dutiful son and grandson should save the country first;
People with lofty ideals attach the greatest importance to protecting the people.
General Feng also wrote a couplet for his son Feng:
If you want to get rid of your troubles, you must have no me;
Go through all the difficulties to be a good person.
The son of Tao Xingzhi, a famous educator, had no formal education and asked a principal for a diploma behind his father's back. After Mr. Tao knew it, he immediately asked his son to return the diploma and handwritten a copy:
Rather be true,;
Don't be a fake scholar.
Proletarian revolutionary Wu wrote a pair of couplets to educate children:
It is difficult to start a business, and it is also difficult to stay in business. Knowing that material resources are difficult, everything is Zheng Mo's vanity;
It is easy to stay at home, but it is not easy to manage the family. If you want to behave yourself, you should set a good example.
People's artist Lao She, after her daughter got married, was very concerned about her daughter-in-law's life and wrote them a couplet:
Combine work and rest, and arrange health and happiness reasonably;
Don't waste oil and salt. Be frugal.
