Liu Xiang likes writing since she was a child. At that time, he didn't realize the concept of calligraphy, because writing big and small characters every day was a fixed lesson. When he was a little older, he began to study flat stickers and never stopped. After graduating from college, Liu worked as a teacher in several schools in Ningxia. Even when writing on the blackboard in class, he showed serious energy. At that time, Mr. Liu's blackboard writing became the students' favorite word, and the school asked him to write the title every time he ran a blackboard newspaper. It is difficult to write big characters on the blackboard, so Liu dipped a rag in water and wrote it on the cement blackboard, and then rechecked it with chalk. The effect was surprisingly good. Liu Ye is meticulous in correcting students' compositions, and always writes comments with a brush dipped in red ink.
Liu is not only a calligrapher, but also an outstanding organizer and one of the founders of Ningxia calligraphy.
One. After the Cultural Revolution, Liu left school to work in Yinchuan Cultural Center, and had better calligraphy conditions. 1973 Ningxia (Yinchuan) established a calligraphy study group. Group members cover three generations, including Cao Youan, Hu Gongshi, Android III, Luo Xueqiao and so on. Old comrades Liu and Liu are in their prime of life, and there are some young lovers such as Chai, Wu, Guo Shouzhong. Under their organization and advocacy, folk calligraphy has become increasingly strong, and exchange and learning activities are frequent. In the mid-1970s, a series of activities, such as calligraphy lectures, calligraphy exhibitions and children's calligraphy training classes, were carried out one after another, and many calligraphy lovers in Yinchuan got the opportunity to learn and communicate.
From 65438 to 0978, in order to broaden their horizons, Ningxia calligraphers sent Hu Gongshi, Liu and Chai to all parts of the country to study and communicate. During their stay in Beijing, they had an exchange with Shen Peng, then the chairman of China Calligraphers Association, and went to Nanjing to meet the famous calligrapher Lin Sanzhi. At that time, the old man was almost 80 years old, and he was very happy to see several calligraphers from the northwest. Although it was difficult for the old man to bend and stretch his fingers, he wrote a word for each of them. Kang Youwei's female disciple and famous calligrapher, Mr. Xiao Xian, also presented them with works to show their encouragement. In Suzhou, the four paid a visit to Fei Xinwo, a famous calligrapher, and reached an agreement with Suzhou calligraphy institutions to hold a joint exhibition of Yinchuan Suzhou calligraphy and painting. When they arrived in Hangzhou, Mr. Sha Menghai's warm reception strengthened their confidence in the future development of calligraphy. From 65438 to 0979, Yinchuan established the calligraphy seal cutting group, which was the first calligraphy seal cutting organization in China after the Cultural Revolution. Liu was appointed as the deputy leader, responsible for the daily organization work.
