1. Yiyuan Garden is located at No.4-8, Houbeian, Changzhou. It was originally the garden of Zhao Fu, the top scholar in Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty. There is a mansion at the entrance of No.28, accounting for half of Xuejie in the county. Later, Zhao Huaiyu built Fang Yutang, Wo Yun, Shui Ge, gazebo and other scenic spots here. After the Taiping Army occupied Changzhou, it set up a holy library, where King Chen Yucheng of England was stationed.
In the third year of Tongzhi (1864), on the sixth day of April, Li Hongzhang's army captured Changzhou, robbed the sacred library and burned down the house, leaving only the head gate, the main hall and the Kuixing Pavilion. In the 12th year of Guangxu (1886), the park was returned to the county magistrate Shi Ganfu. Rebuilding history, Cai Xiang's book was named "Yiyuan" with the word "Yi" as the forehead. Build walls and divide them into inner and outer gardens with leaky windows.
There is a flower hall rockery in the inner garden, which is divided into four seasons; Outside the park, there are the Wild Goose Returning to Mountain Residence, Yue Ming Gallery, Fish Pond, Pavilion and the brook overlooking the water. The gallery wall is embedded with more than ten calligraphy and stone carvings by famous artists such as Mi Fei and Cai Xiang. It is a municipal cultural relics protection unit.
2. Close-view Garden, also known as Jingyuan and Jiayunyuan, was built in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and is located in Changzhou Hotel, Changsheng Lane, Changzhou City. It is the most stylish in Jiangnan in the early Qing Dynasty and the late Ming Dynasty.
The park is 80 meters long from north to south and 64 meters wide from east to west. Although the area is only a few acres, the design is ingenious, the painter is exhausted, and the mountain flower path is beautiful. It is more like a lovely small bonsai, which condenses the essence of Ming and Qing gardens.
The landscape flowers and trees, pavilions and pavilions in the nearby gardens are exquisite and elegant, reflecting the artistic conception of "all words have a taste" everywhere. Look at the landscaping of its garden, the pattern is good, simple and generous. Buildings such as pavilions and pavilions near the park are mostly surrounded by mountains and rivers, and they are patchwork, paying great attention to the moderation of proportion.
The "Xicaotang" in the north is built by the water, which is where the host entertains guests. There are Tianxiangge, Shuchao and Deyuexuan near the pool in the southwest. Further north is the "Qiushui Pavilion", and all the way down is "empty boat" and "knee-high". The path back is quiet and natural, which is extremely negative to the artistic conception of "far mountains near water". There are 30 celebrity calligraphy stones embedded in the wall of the East Corridor. The nearby parks have become provincial-level cultural relics protection units.
