Henan calligrapher Liu Zijiu.

As a media worker, I was lucky enough to meet Mr. Li Jiayao at a calligraphy exhibition in Guangzhou Art Museum more than ten years ago. There are many calligraphy works on display, and many calligraphers take part, but few people are attracted by his calligraphy works and personality charm and remember them vividly. Many years later, I built a self-media platform for the inheritance of traditional culture. In a pile of business cards, I found the business card that Li Lao handed me and contacted Li Lao. For painting and calligraphy, it is my hobby, and it is also because of my cultural genes. I invited Li Lao to join my cultural heritage group. Li Lao is very generous and has written several unwritten manuscripts to Li Lao. His old man gave me calligraphy as an encouragement. Li Lao is approachable and approachable. Because of deep friendship and sincere feelings, I was invited by the teacher many times this time and failed to go to the scene to congratulate. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and congratulate the exhibition on its complete success. The theme of this exhibition clearly highlights "cultural self-confidence, carrying forward traditions, not forgetting teachers' kindness and writing classics", as a self-media person and platform for the inheritance of traditional culture. It is necessary and meaningful to introduce the calligraphy exhibition held by Li Lao and Li Lao, and not forget the teacher's kindness and pass it on from generation to generation.

Teacher Yan is a famous painter and educator in Tianjin. Grandson of Yan Xiu (Yen Hsiu). I studied calligraphy with my great-uncle Yen Hsiu since I was a child, and our family has a long history. Mr. Liu Fu, a teacher, is good at calligraphy and painting, with strict statutes and remarkable achievements. He studied painting in his early years and was personally handed down by Liu Zijiu, a famous expert in Guinness. Later, he became a half-teacher and half-friend with Chen Shaomei, gaining the charm of the Song and Yuan Dynasties and pure painting skills. Calligraphy is also directed by the calligrapher Mr. Wu Yuru, who is well versed in Wang Zhao's works, especially Wen Zhiming's books. People in their seventies have old books. His paintings and calligraphy works are quiet and elegant, and Zen is peaceful.

Mr. Yan is also an educator of painting and calligraphy, with many disciples. He taught and educated people with traditional painting and calligraphy skills, and trained many painting and calligraphy talents, adding luster to Tianjin painting and calligraphy circles.

It was the autumn of 1982, and I passed by Jingu College of the National Revolutionary Committee and saw Yan's advertisement for six students, asking to register with her works. I will discuss it with my wife when I get home. I wrote a preface to Lanting Collection to register my wife. I was so busy at work that I couldn't spare the time. After I signed up, I was informed of my admission.

There are two hours of lectures every afternoon, listening to Yan Lao's lectures and then writing now. I remember that the first class was to let each of us write our own names. At that time, the names of several of our classmates were written on a piece of paper. Yan Lao read it and said, "Be sure to write your own name! I don't think your names are well written. I'll write a name for each of you for your reference. Write the name well. The name is a person's business card. It must be written well, not too scribbled, and it should be easy for people to recognize. " Then we wrote down the names of each of us on the meta-book paper, and several of us cut the paper and kept it for ourselves. At that time, I felt that Yan Lao was amiable and approachable.

In the class of the Chinese Revolution, Yan Lao hung his elbow to watch me write, saying that Comrade Li could write later. I was very encouraged to hear that. Yan Lao went on to say that if writing can be written, a hundred people can also write two. And the one who can be famous for writing to support his family is one in a million. And I also deeply confirmed the inscription of Yan Lao in his later years.

Yan Lao told many stories about how to be a man in daily class. The most talked about is "read more books and be a good person". This has set the tone for us to learn calligraphy all our lives-learning to write, quality first.

After studying in Jingu Academy of the Revolutionary Committee of the People's Republic of China, due to the good relationship between teachers and students, several of our classmates and Yan Lao agreed to choose one night a week to study in Yan Lao's hometown, and Yan Lao was also very happy.

Every time I bring my homework, Yan Lao patiently comments and explains one by one. I remember once a student suggested that some words were not easy to write well and the shelf structure was not easy to arrange, so Yan Lao took a look and accepted the demonstration with a pen. Several of us said the difficult words we usually encountered one by one. We talked about one person and wrote another, and we wrote more than 100 words. While writing and chatting, some words are written in two or three styles. I talked and wrote all night, getting more and more exciting. Finally, Yan Lao said humorously, "You are testing me."

Yan Lao mainly taught us to write running script at that time, taking Wen Zhuoming and Zhao Mengfu's running script as the model, and Wen Zhiming as the main one. He said Wen Zhiming could live to be 90 years old. We can live longer by writing his words. Writing can also express a person's character. Character is character, good character, good character.

? There are three things that I will never forget. Once, I wrote Yan Zhenqing's exhortation poem: "Lights are on at five in the middle of the night ..." I showed it to Yan Lao, who was full of praise. After the comments, I told a story about Yen Hsiu. In those days, Yen Hsiu wrote a doggerel, which was contrary to Yan Zhenqing's advice. The poem casually reads "Spring is not a reading day, summer is hot and you can sleep, Qiu Lai is windy and the weather is cool, so pack your schoolbags for the New Year". We all laughed. Yan Lao later said that this was a satire on those children who were not good at learning and playing, and gave them a reason not to study and play well.

? The second thing is that I often give Yan Lao some words. Once, I sent a framed letter and saw a photo on the desk, which read: "Heroes have never lost their children since ancient times." They didn't sign and seal it. I think this is very philosophical and meaningful, so I asked Yan Lao for this word. Yan Lao said that the word was not well written and that I would write it again. I said no more writing. I want this. Yan Lao said that if you like it, I will give it to you, then licked the pen and dipped it in ink to seal it.

? He also told me that the couplet was written by my great-grandfather to warn his descendants, and he also gave examples of Zeng Guofan and Li Hongzhang to illustrate the meaning of this couplet. If I get the treasure, I will frame it and take it home. After it was framed, I showed it to Yan Lao again. Yan Lao was very happy to read it. I also pushed my luck and asked Yan Lao to write the last paragraph. I hung it at home, and many people praised it at that time! I was also asked to write a couplet of this content and hang it at home.

The third thing is, once I met Yan Lao's reception guest at Yan Lao's home (later I learned that the guest was Master Bao Han of the Great Tragedy Hospital) to talk about Buddhism. After the guests left, I asked Yan Lao to write the words "Buddha shines brightly" for me. Yan Lao wrote me a small bucket of Buddha's light shines on the world at that time. I said I wanted to hang it at home and ask for banners. Yan Laodao: "I don't have any good paper here. I'll write it after you get it. "

Yan Lao asked me, "Do you also believe in Buddhism?" I replied at that time: "I want to believe in Buddhism but I don't know how to do it." Yan Lao gave me a brief talk about "five precepts and three conversions", especially about not killing animals and not eating living things. That's when my conversion in 1998 was planted!

In retrospect, since I met Yan Lao, it was a turning point in my life! What I saw and heard enriched my knowledge. I walked up a flight of stairs and began to write. Because of exposure to good knowledge, my work, family, career and life have undergone great changes. A few days later, I took a piece of powdered gold paper and asked Yan Lao to write the four characters "Buddha shines brightly", framed it and hung it at home.

I still remember that in the spring of 1984, Yan Lao told several students that the Kuomintang organized a condolence pen meeting in Beicang, and you chose two people to attend. At that time, Zhong He was elected to attend this pen meeting. This is my first time to attend a pen meeting! I met Mu and other painters at the pen meeting.

1990 engaged in painting, calligraphy and mounting, and began to ask Yan Lao for the basis of landscape painting. At that time, Yan Lao had not painted landscapes for many years, so he took out his disciples' early paintings to explain them one by one. I began to step into the road of landscape painting. I'm interested in border painting. Yan Lao introduced Jia Wanxin to me. Later, I had a lot of contact with Jia Wanxin and learned a lot. Slowly, I have a feeling and understanding of boundary painting.

1993 Before Yan Lao died in April, he was busy with family affairs. He hasn't been to Yan's hometown for nearly half a year. When he heard the news of Yan Lao's death, he was filled with remorse! !

Recalling the past, I am more and more full of reverence for Yan Lao, whose voice, face and smile are still in sight, which reminds me of my teacher and makes my kindness unforgettable. Write this article to express gratitude. Wang Yan is old, lives in the pure land of bliss, protects our generation, and everything goes well. Amitabha.

Wonderful review of the opening ceremony:
