The origin and evolution of running script

Running script sprouted in Han Dynasty and took place in Wei and Jin Dynasties. Wang Xizhi of the Eastern Jin Dynasty learned from others, prepared all kinds of works, combined practicality and artistry perfectly, and founded the calligraphy art of South School in Yong Guang, becoming the most influential and oldest calligraphy master in the history of China calligraphy, and known as "the sage of calligraphy".

Being called "Two Kings" with his son Wang Xianzhi has become a towering peak in the history of calligraphy. His Preface to the Collection of Lanting was praised by later generations as "the best running script in the world" and was worshipped by later generations. The running script style, represented by the "two kings", has influenced calligraphers from generation to generation. Calligraphers of all ages believed in him, learned from him and drew nutrition from him.

Running script is a kind of calligraphy, which is divided into running script and running script. It is developed and originated on the basis of regular script, and it is a font between regular script and cursive script, which is produced to make up for the slow writing speed of regular script and the illegibility of cursive script. "Go" means "go", so it is not as scribbled as cursive script, nor as straight as regular script.

Preface to Lanting Collection was written in China Jin Dynasty (AD 353). Wang Xizhi, a book sage, wrote books and made friends at the foot of Zhu Lan Mountain in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, and wrote "the best running script in the world", also known as Preface to Lanting, Preface to He Lin, Preface to Lanting March 3, etc.

Yuan Bo Tie is a calligraphy work by Xun Wang, a calligrapher in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Now it is collected in the Palace Museum in Beijing. Yuan Bo Post is a letter written by the author to his relatives and friends Yuan Bo. His writing is natural and fluent, beautiful and elegant. It is a model work in the early days of running script. Sanxi Tie, the first famous post, is also listed as one of the top ten running scripts in the world, ranking fourth.
