Seal: Kanghou's Seal Aqiang

Feng Kanghou (1901--1983) was originally named Feng Qiang, with the character "Zhikang" and the name "Tangzhai". A native of Panyu, Guangdong. He learned painting from the painter Wen Qiqiu when he was young, and he also learned seal cutting from Liu Qingsong. The commentator believes that seal cutting is higher than calligraphy, and calligraphy is higher than painting. He is good at using bells, tripods, ancient plums, and gladiolus, which are elegant and pleasant, and can be compared to Kong Xiaoyu on the sea. In 1919, he went to Japan to study practical art at an art school. Returned to China in 1921. He once painted stage sets for Mei Lanfang. After 1949, he moved to Kowloon, Hong Kong, and taught philology at United College and other tertiary institutions. He has been engaged in calligraphy, seal cutting and painting all his life.
