Where is Xishan in Ezhou?

Xishan in Ezhou is a famous cultural landscape attraction in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture.

Xishan in Ezhou, called Fanshan in ancient times, is named because it is located in the west of Ezhou, the ancient capital of Wu Wang.

Xishan is located on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, 68 kilometers away from Wuhan, a metropolis in Central China. It faces the Yangtze River in the north and Huangzhou Chibi in the opposite direction. South of Yanglan Lake, connected with the vast blue waves; East of the bustling downtown area; Fan Chuan, with a jade belt on the west pillow and a lake on the river, rises from the ground. Xishan has nine twists and one vein, and Jiu Feng has six valleys. The mountains are green and the pines and cypresses are empty. Green cliffs and waterfalls wash jade. The whole mountain is about 1.6 km long from east to west, 1.2 km wide from north to south, and the main peak is 170 m, with a total area of more than 4,000 mu. There are six valleys on the mountain, connecting seven springs, three pools, one lake and two waterfalls in series. The quality of groundwater in Xishan Mountain is excellent, which is inexhaustible all year round. Sweet Bodhisattva Springs and crisp and delicious Dongpo cakes are famous in Kyushu.

Xishan has a mild climate all the year round, abundant rainfall, lush trees and blooming flowers. The second peak of the west (mountain) is thunder (mountain) like a sword, with steep mountains like dragons, mountains flying and valleys floating. The spring water in the mountain stream is embedded in the Yandan Cuigu, with pavilions and flowers dotted in it. The curved bridge waterside pavilion is reflected in the Qingxi Biliu, and the Qingta Honglou looms among the colorful clouds. The mountains are lush with vegetation, birds and flowers, and the breeze is cool and humid. It is a tourist and holiday resort for people to entertain themselves.

Xishan has a long history and many places of interest. The historical and cultural landscape featuring the ancient capital of Wu Wang, the humanistic landscape represented by Sun Quan and Su Shi, the Buddhist cultural landscape marked by Gulingquan Temple and the natural landscape dominated by Xishan Garden are ingeniously integrated here. Sun Quan, the king of the Three Kingdoms, ruled the country, and Hui Yuan, a monk in the Jin Dynasty, Yue Fei, a famous anti-Jin star, Tao Kan, Yu Liang, Li Bai, Su Shi, Ouyang Xiu, Wang Anshi, Lu You, Peng Yulin and Zhang Zhidong gave lectures and preached, practiced martial arts, traveled and hunted, feasted and lived in seclusion in summer. Some of them have become historical sites, which is admirable. They left many beautiful poems and Mo Bao handed down from generation to generation, adding luster to the treasure house of China literature and art. Zhang Yuzhao, a calligrapher at the end of Qing Dynasty, and Peng Chufan, a martyr at the beginning of 1911, also have relics here. During the Great Revolution, General He Long led troops to guard the Western Hills. After liberation, the party and state leaders Dong, Wang and other comrades visited Xishan many times. 1In the autumn of 965, Marshal Chen Yi climbed to the top of Xishan Mountain, filled with emotion: Xishan is no less than Lushan Mountain!

There are more than 20 places of interest in Xishan, such as the Summer Palace of the King of Wu, Wuchang Tower and Gulingquan Temple.

Wu Wang Summer Palace:

Sun Quan, the king of Wu, spent a summer studying in Xishan, which was built from 2265438 to 229. The ground here is covered with pine trees and the mountain springs are gurgling, and the temperature is 2% lower than that in the urban area.

The temperature of 3℃ has always been known as the cool land of wuchang city. In the first year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 376-396), Hui Yuan, a monk, took a fancy to this treasure trove of geomantic omen and changed the Summer Palace into Xishan Temple. In the 1990s, the Summer Palace only retained one wing, which was called the Summer Palace.

During the period of 1999, the Summer Palace of the King of Wu was relocated to the top of the chair and rebuilt, becoming another new scenic spot in Xishan, with antique buildings in the Han Dynasty, such as the Summer Palace, the reading hall, the deliberation hall and the Wuchang Building, covering a total area of more than 80 mu.

Wuchang building:

Standing on the top of the chair, the clouds reflect the sun, towering into the clouds, beautiful, and overlooking the building, Ezhou Huangzhou has a panoramic view. The Wan Li of the Yangtze River is long, with vast smoke waves, invincible battles, long sirens and folk songs, giving people a sense of vastness and grandeur. The three characters of Wuchang Building on the horizontal forehead of the entrance are elegant and vigorous, and they are written by Guo Moruo, a great contemporary cultural master in China.

Gulingquan Temple:

Also known as Xishan Temple, built by Hui Yuan, a monk in the first year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, is the birthplace of Pure Land Sect in China. There are one hall (Manjusri Hall), three springs (Didi Spring, Han Xiquan and Living Water Spring) and six halls (Tianwang Hall, Baidian Hall, Daxiong Hall, Guanyin Hall, Wusheng Temple and Buddha Hall) in the temple. The main hall has brick and wood structure, lotus arch, cornice ridge and red rafter color hall. In the Hall of the Great Hero, dozens of Lohan Bodhisattvas are sitting or lying, moving or static, beautifully shaped and lifelike.

Jiuqu Pavilion:

On the Jiuqu Ridge at the southern foot of Xishan Mountain, Jiuqu Pavilion is named after the meaning of narrow intestine. Jiuqu Pavilion was built in the Three Kingdoms period and then abandoned. Su Shi, a Song native, lived in Huangzhou, crossed the river and climbed the Western Hills, looking for the former site, expanding the land and rebuilding it. There are yellow screen red columns in the Jiuqu Pavilion, and the screen wall has two sides, namely Su Shi's poem Xishan in Wuchang and Su Zhe's Jiuqu Pavilion in Wuchang. In addition, Xishan Temple, Songfeng Pavilion, Cui Jingyuan, Xiu Yuan Garden, Sword Trial Stone, Ancillary Altar, Retreat Valley, Shimenkai, Pang Tong Reading Room and other landscapes will definitely leave beautiful and profound memories for tourists.
