Mo Mei
Wang Mian [Yuan Dynasty]
The head tree in Xiyan Lake, my home, is blossoming with light ink marks. (My family works: My family; One work after another: each)
Don't let people praise the good colors, just leave the air full of dry Kun. (A good color: a good color)
Translation
There is a plum tree near my home in Xiyan Lake, and the blossoming plum blossoms seem to be stained with faint ink.
it doesn't need others to praise how beautiful the color is, but it just needs to diffuse the fragrance between heaven and earth.
Note
Momei: Plum blossom sketched with ink pen.
My family: Because Wang Xizhi and Wang Mian share the same surname, Wang Mian thinks that wang xing belongs to his family.
Xiyan Lake: a pool for washing pens and inkstones after writing and drawing. It is said that Zhong You practiced calligraphy when he was young in the Three Kingdoms period, and he often used the pool next to his home to wash his brush, so that the whole pool was finally inky. When Wang Xizhi of the Eastern Jin Dynasty said that "learning books in the pool is as dark as the water in the pool", this is an allusion to boast that he loves painting and calligraphy art and culture.
pool head: the edge of the pool. Head: On the side.
light ink: ink colors are divided into four types in ink painting, such as clear ink, light ink, strong ink and Jiao Mo. Here, it is said that the blossoming plum blossoms are dotted with faint ink.
mark: mark.
Qingqi: the delicate fragrance of plum blossoms.
Man Gankun: It permeates the world. Man: diffuse.
gan Kun: heaven and earth.
About the author:
Wang Mian (circa 1287-1359), with the character stamp, Zhuzhai, Zhushi Shannong, and the owner of Zhongweng and Meihua, was born in Fengqiao, Zhuji, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, and was a famous painter, poet and seal engraver at the end of Yuan Dynasty. He was born in poverty, herded cattle for others in his childhood and became a success by self-study.
Wang Mian is aloof and despises powerful people. His poems sympathize with people's sufferings, condemn powerful people, despise fame and wealth, and describe rural seclusion. There are three volumes of Zhu Zhai Ji and two sequels. I love plum blossoms all my life, planting plum blossoms and Yongmei, and attacking and painting plum blossoms. The painted plum blossoms are dense and numerous, full of business, vigorous and powerful, which has a great influence on future generations. Paintings that have survived in the world include "Early Morning Map of Nanzhi Spring", "Meme Map" and "Three Gentlemen Map". Can manage printing, create a seal with flower-milk stone, and the seal cutting method is wonderful. There is a biography of Ming History.
