The birthplace of Liu surname

Liu Xiahui is a descendant of Duke Xiao of Lu after Duke Zhou. His original surname was Zhan Ming, but because he ate under the willow tree, he changed his surname to Vitamins. After Qin Shihuang unified the world, the descendants of Liu, who originally lived in Lu, moved to Hedong, and their descendants passed down from generation to generation, eventually becoming a noble family in Hedong, and then multiplying from here to all parts of the country. Hedong at that time referred to a large area east of the Yellow River in Shanxi Province.

The first Liu family to get ahead in history is the Liu family in the Southern Dynasties, which started with Liu Shilong, the general of Wuwei in Liu and Song Dynasties, about 2,000 years ago. The Southern Dynasties were prominent officials, just like a noble family.

The performance of Liu Gongchu, Liu Gongquan and Liu Zhongying, the son of Liu Gongchu, in the Tang Dynasty made the Liu family shine even more brightly and became a famous surname. Liu Gongquan, who is familiar to everyone, is a calligrapher with high attainments. His Mysterious Pagoda Monument is the most widely circulated, and it is still a model for calligraphers. He not only writes well, but also learns widely and better. Later, he was named Duke of Hedong by Tang Gaozong, and he and his brothers and nephews were called "Three Masters", honoring their ancestors and leaving endless glory for future generations.

Since then, Liu's celebrities have been in the history books, such as Liu Yong, a romantic genius in the Song Dynasty, and Liu Zongyuan, a great scholar who contributed to China's ancient literature.
