Huang Chang’s personal experience

Born in Shenzhen on August 4, 1939

Graduated from Shenzhen Middle School in 1960 and was admitted to Hubei Art Institute in the same year

Graduated from Hubei Art Institute in 1965 Department of Fine Arts of the College. In August of the same year, he was assigned to the Beijing Institute of Decoration Design. He worked there until February 1984 when he was recruited to work at the Shenzhen Art Advertising Company. In the same year, he participated in the preparation of the Sino-Japanese joint venture - Tianming Art Printing Co., Ltd. and served as the deputy general manager. In the same year, he successfully presided over the design and production of Shenzhen floats to participate in the National Day Tiananmen celebrations for the 35th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, which aroused strong repercussions at home and abroad and received national awards.

In 1988, he became the first batch of recipients of the title of senior industrial artist in Shenzhen.

In 1993, he applied to teach at Shenzhen Vocational and Technical College, where he designed the school emblem and successively served as director of the advertising department, director of the arts and crafts department, and library director.

In 1995, "Huang Chang's Calligraphy and Painting" was published by Lingnan Fine Arts Publishing House

In 1996, his calligraphy work "Selected Excerpts from Su Dongpo's Red Cliff Odyssey" was collected by Chairman Mao Memorial Hall

In April 1997, the "Huang Chang Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition" was held at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing. It was widely publicized and reported by CCTV, Beijing TV, People's Daily, People's Daily Overseas Edition, Beijing Daily and other media, which had a great impact.

Participated in the Beijing National Calligraphy and Painting Grand Prix for the Elderly in 2005, and won the gold medal for his calligraphy work Xin Jiaxuan's "Qing Jade Case - Yuan Xi" and Chinese painting "Birds Returning to their Nests"

Participated in 2006 Macau International Couplet Calligraphy and Painting Grand Prix, his work won the gold medal.

In June 2008, he was invited as a scholar to visit the Seoul National University of the Arts in South Korea, the Artists Association, the Calligraphers Association, etc. to conduct academic exchange activities. In July of the same year, he was invited to hold the "Huang Chang Calligraphy and Painting Invitational Exhibition" in Pohang, South Korea, which received a strong response.

In October 2010, he participated in the 90th anniversary celebration of his alma mater, Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, and his work "Eagles" was included in the collection of works of the older generation of artists celebrating the 90th anniversary of the school.

In July 2011, he was invited to return to his alma mater, Hubei Art Students, to hold "Huang Chang's Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition"

In 2012, Mr. Huang Chang canceled the trip to Nagoya, Japan, which he had promised in 2011 "Invitational Exhibition of Huang Chang's Calligraphy and Painting Works". In March 2012, Mr. Huang Chang categorically canceled his trip after learning that the mayor of Nagoya, Japan, had denied the Nanjing Massacre and that the Japanese government had taken the "island purchase operation" that seriously violated China's sovereignty and seriously hurt the national sentiments of the Chinese people.
