Su De, formerly known as Wang Yi. He has been studying calligraphy and painting since he was a child. His maternal grandfather was Jin Yancao, the former deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai Artists Association, a famous industrial artist and traditional Chinese painter. He started writing novels in 2001, joined the Chinese Writers Association in 2007, and became a signed writer of the Shanghai Writers Association in the same year. In August 2009, he went to Cork, Ireland, to become a writer-in-residence, and gave a visiting lecture on "The Lonely and Rebellious Generation" at UCC University. In May 2010, the calligraphy work "New Irish Poetry" was exhibited at the Irish Pavilion of the World Expo. There is also actor Sood of the same name
