Na Weidong's Artistic Journey

In the 1980s, Na Weidong talked with the old man Liu Haisu. When the old man was creating landscape works, he said that he would go to Huangshan on the 10th (at that time, the old man was 93 years old and went to Huangshan on the 9th). He saw old Li Man, a master of Lingnan Painting School, painting plum blossoms for himself in Xiangshan Hotel, and he was also sketching. When he asked Mr. Zhong Shi for advice with his calligraphy works, the old man looked at it and said, "You write very well and have great skills", and then wrote a short article entitled "Throw a jade in exchange for a tile, and only merit is an example". These predecessors' pragmatic and modest virtues have always inspired him to keep moving forward. Na Weidong followed the law of historical development and firmly believed in the concept of "stepping forward" and the concept of philosophical history. After hard work, humbly seeking advice, the guidance of famous artists and the evaluation of thousands of people, he won dozens of gold medals in the national painting and calligraphy competition, and finally the calligraphy art formed its own unique style and personality. Na Weidong's calligraphy works are vigorous, vigorous, handsome and resolute. They are not only standardized, orthodox, skillful and free and easy, but also unpretentious and flashy.
