Zanhuang Huaiquan Temple is a cultural tourist attraction.
Huaiquan Temple is located in the hinterland of the Zhangshiyan Paper Paste Scenic Area in Zanhuang County, and was originally called Shifo Temple. It was built in the Zhizheng period of the Yuan Dynasty (1342--1368). Qiao Yu, who was the minister of the military and official affairs at that time, changed its name to Huaiquan Temple. In the Qing Dynasty, the temple was destroyed by flash floods. The top of the back stone also collapsed.
In 1988, the main hall was rebuilt with three couplets and nine statues inside. In front of the hall, there are two Thousand Buddha Steles, one for the rebuilt Stone Buddha Temple, one for visiting Huaiquan Temple, and one sutra building. In 1990, the "Auspicious Day Guisi" monument of King Zhou Mu was moved from the county cultural center to this place. The Thousand Buddha Stele is an inscription from the Yuan Dynasty. There are 1,014 relief Buddha statues in different shapes between the two steles. There are incised Buddhist story line paintings on the sides of the two stele monuments, with delicate and smooth lines and vivid images. The monument of the visit to Huaiquan Temple was written by Qiao Yu, describing the beautiful scenery of the forest in the Zhangshi Zhizhitao area and the whole story of the Shifo Temple being renamed Huaiquan Temple. The monument is 4.1 meters high and 1.2 meters wide. There are 459 words in the main text. The font is a combination of regular script and regular script. The writing is powerful and it is a masterpiece of calligraphy.
