The famous calligrapher of the Three Kingdoms must be Zhong Yao.
Zhong Yao was good at seal script, official script, Zhen script, Xing script and Cao script. He was quite accomplished in calligraphy and promoted the development of regular script (small regular script), and was revered as the "originator of regular script" by later generations. Zhong Yao had a profound influence on later calligraphy, and Wang Xizhi and others once devoted themselves to studying his calligraphy. Together with Wang Xizhi, a calligrapher of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, he is also known as the "Zhongwang". Yu Jianwu of the Southern Dynasty ranked Zhong Yao's calligraphy as "above the top grade", while Zhang Huaiguan of the Tang Dynasty commented on his calligraphy as "a divine grade" in "Shuguan".
