Calligraphy is the quintessence of China, which can best reflect the charm of Chinese characters. Wang Xizhi, known as the "sage of calligraphy", has an unparalleled position in the history of calligraphy in China.
There are many painting and calligraphy shops in Xiyanhu Street, which are full of cultural atmosphere. Wang Xizhi's former residence is in the middle of this street. This classical garden-like building is the childhood residence of Wang Xizhi.
Although the garden is not big, the pavilions are simple, the bamboo forests are hidden, and the strange stones are beautiful and pleasing to the eye. On the antique door, there is the "Former Residence of Wang Xizhi" inscribed by contemporary calligrapher Qi Gong. Facing the gate is the world-famous Xiyan Lake. The book saint studied books when he was young, and the pool for washing inkstones was full of ink, which was passed down as a much-told story by later generations. There is an inkstone pavilion in the north of Chibi. There are two stone tablets in the pavilion: Xiyan Lake and Wang Youjun. There is a "book drying table" where the Wangs used to print books. There is a tall hall called "nirvana in fire". Linyi used to be an ancient county, and the name of the academy made people smell a thick book fragrance. In the painting and calligraphy institute, calligraphers' steles, stone carvings and masterpieces of calligraphers from all over the world are displayed. There is Kim Mo Zhai, where Four Treasures of the Study, books and paintings are displayed. There is a fragrant pavilion, a curved bridge on the pool surface, and the pavilion is connected with the shore. There is a 100-meter stele gallery in the west of Xiyan Lake, and more than 50 marble tablets are engraved with inscriptions by famous calligraphers, which is amazing.
There is Wang Youjun Temple not far from Xiyan Lake. Wang Youjun was the right general of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Wang Xizhi. There is a statue of Wang Xizhi in the temple, with a boy on the left and right, Four Treasures of the Study on the left and a white goose on the right; There is a dragon and phoenix monument in the temple yard.
And the goose pond. Wang Xizhi likes geese, and there is a story that "books are geese". A piece of clear water in the goose pond reflects a long pavilion. There are white geese swimming in the pond, and there are fenced plots on the shore. On the stone tablet on the back of the giant turtle, there is the word "goose pond" The tour guide said that "goose" is the word Xi and "pool" is the word dedication. I don't know if it's true or not, but it's interesting.
There is Zhao Pu Temple in the garden. How did the scholar's former residence build a Buddhist temple? It turned out that this Zhao Pu Temple was not pieced together by modern people, but was related to the former residence of the book sage. To be exact, the land occupied by Zhao Pu Temple is the former residence of Wang Xizhi. Wang Xizhi was born in 303. In 307 (the first year of Jin Yongjia), he moved south with his family to Huiji Yin Shan (now Shaoxing, Zhejiang) and left his hometown to become a Buddhist temple. The Buddhist temple has experienced several ups and downs, changed its name several times, and was renamed as a temple in the pseudo-Qi period, which has been in use ever since. The naming and restoration of the former residence park was carried out in stages from the 1990s to the beginning of this century. There is a tall stone tablet not far from Daxiong Hall. The inscription is engraved in the font of Liu Gongquan, and it is called "Liu Jibei". The original monument was built in the Jin Dynasty to renovate the temple, but what we are seeing now is re-carved in recent years. The first time I visited this place, I felt that the inscription was exactly the same as that written by Liu Gongquan's mysterious tower. Although the strokes are consistent this time, the overall charm is much more delicate and pretty than the wicker stickers circulating in the world, and the feeling of hard bones is less. Maybe I was wrong, maybe the restorer carved the rhyme, or maybe I was unconsciously influenced by Wang Youjun's beautiful calligraphy style?
This park is rich in content, which embodies some highlights of Linyi culture. There is also Wuxian Temple in the garden. Five ancient sages in Linyi area are enshrined in the shrine. Needless to say, these five sages, Zhuge Liang loyal to the sun and the moon, Yan Zhenqing and Yan Gaoqing loyal to the Tang Dynasty, need to talk about Wang Xiang and Wang Lan brothers in the Western Jin Dynasty. Wang Xiang is the eldest son of twenty-four filial piety, and Wang Lan is Wang Xiang's half-brother. When Wang Xiang was persecuted by his stepmother, Wang Lan always stood up to protect his brother. If Wang Xiang mainly embodies the great filial piety, Wang Lan mainly embodies the great filial piety. Wang Lan is the fifth ancestor of Wang Xizhi, which shows the inheritance of China's ancient ideology and culture. In addition, a large number of cultural relics have been unearthed in the golden tomb. I think the middle-aged couple and young children in that tomb belong to Wang Xizhi's family.
