Reading —— One of the Memories of An Zhi's Characters

I'm reading a book recently, Mr. Chen Julai's Memories of An Zhi Characters.

Chen Julai is a modern seal engraver. Through seal cutting, he got to know Wu Changshuo, Zhao Shuru, Zhang Daqian, Xie, Zhang Daqian and other painters. Calligraphy and painting complement each other.

People who are not familiar with calligraphy and seal cutting may not know him. He is now widely known for this memoir he wrote in his later years. It can be seen that literature is really powerful. )

This batch of words written by Chen Julai on old cardboard and even cigarette cases in his later years mainly tells the anecdotes of famous writers in literature, calligraphy, painting and seal cutting in Shanghai during the Republic of China.

The calligraphers and painters and people from all walks of life described in the book are far from perfect morally. Some people even have many flaws in moral conduct, but they all have flying personalities. They all showed a frank temperament and celebrity spirit in laughing, cursing and gestures.

Every character in the book, including the author himself, is presented to us in a complete three-dimensional way through the humorous words of the Republic of China written by the author, and we often laugh when we look at them.

The first article is about Pu Ru, the great grandson of Daoguang Emperor and the grandson of Prince Gong. He is good at calligraphy and painting, and is called "Nanpu Beipu" by Zhang Daqian.

After liberation, Chen Yi repeatedly invited Xinyu Pu to the north as the vice president of the Palace Museum. Before he left, he heard that Xu Beihong was going to be overthrown, so he expressed his wish. When Pu Wen heard about it, he switched to Nanxiang in the north and never came back.

The author said in the book: "Yu and Pu have only been friends for more than two months, and those who think they are lifelong friends are the most sincere and frank, and cherish the short fate, so they never forget."

I don't like reading biographies of celebrities very much. I always feel that the characters in the book are high above the world of mortals, which is beyond the reach of ordinary people. But the anecdotes of these celebrities in this memoir made me ecstatic, impressed by the talents of the characters in the book, deeply impressed by the noble personality of some people in adversity, and fascinated by the mutual appreciation between these painters and painters.
