The author of Tea Records is Cai Xiang.
"Tea Records", a treatise on tea drinking in ancient China. ***One volume, one for two volumes. Cai Xiang (1012-1067) of the Northern Song Dynasty wrote it during the Huangyou period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1049-1053). It is an important tea science monograph in the Song Dynasty. Cai Xiang felt that Lu Yu's "Tea Classic" was "not inferior to Jian'an products" and specifically recommended Beiyuan tribute tea to the emperor, thus writing "Tea Records".
Cai Xiang was an upright official and made political achievements wherever he went. When he was in Fuzhou, he eliminated folk poison; when he was in Quanzhou, he co-chaired the construction of Luoyang Bridge with Mr. Lu Xi; when he was founding the state, he advocated the planting of pine trees on the 700-mile post road from Fuzhou to Zhangzhou, and presided over the production of Beiyuan tribute tea "Xiaolong Tuan" ". His "Tea Records" summarizes the ancient experience in making and tasting tea; "Lychee Pu" is praised as "the world's first work on fruit tree taxonomy". Cai Xiang's poems are clear and wonderful, his calligraphy is vigorous and dignified, simple and graceful, and he is one of the "Four Masters of Song Dynasty". There are "Cai Zhonghui Collection" and other works handed down from generation to generation.
Brief description of the original text
Because of my previous request, Your Majesty ordered me to serve as the transshipment envoy to Fujian, and the top-grade dragon tea I imported was the finest. I think that the grass and trees are small, and I humiliate your majesty for knowing that if you find the right land, you can make the best use of your talents.
In the past, Lu Yu's "Tea Classic" did not include Jian'an products; Ding's "Tea Picture" exclusively discussed the origin of harvesting and production. As for the cooking test, I have never heard of it. Chen Zou's several things are simple and easy to understand, and they are divided into two chapters, called "Cha Lu". Fu Wei is having a leisurely banquet, and may be given a view. The minister is extremely frightened and honored. Preface.
