Couplet Story: Deng Zhuanshu's couplet tells about splendid china.

Deng, a famous calligrapher and seal engraver in Qing Dynasty, used a simple pen for printing, and used a meticulous knife method to depict everything. There is a study in Deng called Bishan Bookstore. He wanted to write a pair of couplets as an ornament, and he struggled for a long time, but he couldn't come up with an elegant one.

One day, Deng summoned students and asked them to write couplets for the study. He encouraged everyone to open their hearts and urged everyone to say, "shine on you is better than blue." When the students heard that they were writing couplets for the teacher's study, they were eager to stand out. Before long, many students handed in couplets. Deng Shiru looked at them one by one and studied them carefully. Many couplets were rejected because of minor flaws. Deng was almost disappointed to see that most of the couplets were eliminated. Suddenly, a couplet attracted his attention deeply. He was so angry that he saw this couplet read:

Haitian, Chicheng Xiaxia, Emei Snow, Wuxia Cloud, Dongting Moon, Smoke, Xiaoxiang Rain, Wuyi Peak and Lushan Waterfall are integrated with the wonders of the universe and painted on the wall of my den; Shaoling poems, rubbings, Zuo Zhuan's essays, history, Xue Tao's notes, You Juntie, South China Classics, Xiang Rufu, Qu Sao, integrating ancient and modern techniques, set up my mountain window.

The landscape written above the couplet has a panoramic view of the strange mountains, waters, clouds and the sun and moon in nature, with extraordinary momentum. The second part is about humanities. Thousands of years of China celebrities, poems and songs, calligraphy and painting are dazzling.

Deng was jubilant and chose this couplet as his study couplet, and encouraged and praised the students who wrote this couplet without stint.
