Wen You (1901-1985) had the courtesy name Zaiyou and the nickname Yehe. A native of Sijing Town, Lou County, Jiangsu Province (now part of Songjiang County, Shanghai City). After graduating from primary school in the second year of the Republic of China (1913), he went to work in the Shanghai Application Office due to family difficulties. At the same time, he studied in a middle school and the private Aurora University. Later he moved to work in the editorial department of the Commercial Press, and also served as a teacher at private universities such as Zhizhi. During this period, he joined Nanshe as a member and was a member of the early Creation Society. He is good at poetry and calligraphy, and some of his works have been published in collections.
