199 1 China Indian Studies Yearbook published by Xiling Publishing House. Mr. Liu Wenquan is an artist of the older generation in Shandong Province. In 1960s, together with Yu Xining and Black Dragon, he represented Shandong at the National Literature Conference and the US Congress. I went to Taishan to attend the Qingdao Daily Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition and had a good talk with scholar Mr. Wang Keyu. Over the years, Liu Wenquan has created a large number of excellent works, which are deeply loved by people. His paintings and personality are highly respected. When Mr. Wang learned that Taishan Evening News, founded by Taian Daily, was about to be published, he immediately took out his carefully created landscape paintings to congratulate him.

A landscape painting with vivid pen and ink not only shows amazing natural beauty, but also reveals the painter's personality and temperament everywhere. Every stroke reveals the pure beauty inherent in the true feelings, and shows sincere spiritual shock to the mountains and rivers of the motherland everywhere. He is the famous China painter Liu Wenquan.

Liu Wenquan's childhood experience was rather bumpy, and his artistic career was even more tortuous. He lost his father when he was young, his mother was illiterate, and he didn't get a good family upbringing. Later, I got to know the famous painters of the island city at that time, such as Shi Ke, Yan, Tao Tianen, Zhao, etc., and learned from them constantly, gradually improving my artistic level. 1959, his figure painting "Go Forward" was selected for the 2nd National Art Exhibition and "1949- 1959 National Poster Decade Exhibition", and was rated as an excellent work, so it was nominated by China Artists Association to participate in the 3rd National Literature Congress and the 2nd National Art Exhibition 1960. At the end of 1959, Art magazine published the work on the second cover with the editor's comments. Later, this work was regarded as one of the outstanding works by China Artists Association and participated in the Southeast Asia touring exhibition. Liu Wenquan was finally recognized as an artist by the society.

Liu Wenquan is good at landscape painting, and most of his works are landscape sketches. In these masterpieces, there is no trivial pen to stick to creation, and most of them express their feelings in scenes, full of awe. Qi Baishi put it well: "Those who are good at freehand brushwork only show their spirit, while those who sketch by hand only pay attention to their shape, and should sketch by freehand brushwork;" Freehand brushwork and copying students can see everything. "Liu Wenquan regards the sketch of facing nature as his own way of observing, understanding and expressing nature. His works truly and truly express his feelings and emotions, with less formality and affectation, more vividness and naturalness, which makes people feel full of vitality. The natural composition, vivid pen and ink and the authenticity of the image constitute the charm and vitality of the whole work. Liu Wenquan's works advocate the traditional ink painting art in China. In his works, pen manipulation and ink decoration basically respect the classical traditional style, which shows the author's love and grasp of China's traditional ink painting techniques. But the difference is that the author did not use these traditional techniques to imitate the works of the ancients or create the works of "new literati", but used these traditional techniques to face nature and sketch. This makes these traditional technologies directly describe the real nature, which leads to qualitative change. These techniques cannot transcend and break away from the divine power of nature, but can only be attached to and integrated into nature. Traditional techniques are endowed with new ideas in the face of natural sketch, which determines that Liu Wenquan's works inherit the tradition of China ink painting and create new features in the tradition, which is also a great success of Liu Wenquan's works.

Besides painting, Liu Wenquan also loves seal cutting and has made many achievements in this field. He got his biography from Mr. Chen Shourong, a descendant of Chen Jieqi, a native of Wei County. Today, although Liu Wenquan is over 70 years old, he is still full of energy. He devoted most of his time and energy to the administrative work of the Artists Association, working hard in the painting garden, seeking neither fame nor profit nor return. He discovers and cultivates talents in obscurity and conscientiously, which shows his broad mind and noble sentiment of always being a ladder for others. The words of Song Wenjing, a famous painting and calligraphy critic, may represent the voices of many people in the art world: "His paintings are only part of his achievements. Teacher Liu Wenquan deserves everyone's study and respect, both in art and in life. " Mr. Liu Wenquan copied the list of his delegates to the Third Congress of China Writers and Artists in 1960, and the photo of Chairman Mao's meeting with literary representatives published in the first edition of People's Daily on July 24th, 960, and gave it to Mr. Wang Keyu.
