Experience of learning calligraphy

The calligraphy class is over. Although it is impossible to learn well in a short time, learning is a step-by-step process. It is very important to master the methods and points, which is the key to learning and the shortcut to learning well.

To learn calligraphy, we must first know its basic language-line. It also includes four elements: linearity, that is, the shape of lines; Linearity, that is, the texture and quality of lines; Linear law, that is, the rhythm of lines is fluctuating; Line structure is the space where lines are formed. Knowing these basic points, we will find that the purpose is much stronger in the learning process. Take the relationship between words as an example. Many beginners pay attention to the connection between murals, but ignore the air action of broken pen meaning. They look at a pen, write a pen, and the pens pile up into words. The result is lifeless. I posted it myself, too. I often ignore the singularity of words and occasionally notice that I only know what it is, but I don't know why. The result is that breakpoints appear everywhere, which affects the popularity of the whole work. In addition to these, there are the tendency of lines between words, the size of words, the rhythm of repeated light and shade in the whole work, the compactness of words and so on. These are all emphasized repeatedly by the teacher in class. Although the improvement of skills is not obvious, I still have a certain understanding in theory, at least I know how to write and what to pay attention to when writing.

China's calligraphy art has a long history and contains infinite artistic realm. What we can do is to explore this road slowly and make it better!

Lin Tie is a compulsory course for every calligrapher. For everyone who wants to write, temporary jobs should be the most basic and profound homework to be done at all times in his life. I have been posting since I was a teenager, and it has been more than 30 years. Today, I still face the copybooks I have read before, but I have different understandings in different periods. I deeply feel that if you don't teach students in accordance with their aptitude, there will be advantages and disadvantages, and sometimes even more disadvantages than advantages.

I think, when I was a beginner, I didn't learn according to the situation as the ancients said, but blindly followed the so-called Tang Kai beginner. This post has been more than ten years, and it has lost its spirituality and understanding. In the past ten years, there has been no change in writing, no achievement, and doubts. This is not to say that the regular script in the Tang Dynasty is not good, but that it should vary from person to person and interest should be paramount. We can choose different copybooks (such as regular script, cursive script, official script and seal script).

What copybooks did the ancients before Tang Kai face? Wang Xizhi has never studied Tang Kai, but he is a great scholar. Why? These are all things that we should ponder deeply. We must get out of the narrow alley, so that our thinking can be broadened and our doubts can be solved. Only when we face the classic copybooks of different periods and styles and brainstorm, can we truly appreciate the beauty of copybooks and the happiness of calligraphers. The most unbearable thing is that some calligraphy teachers can't even write white characters themselves, and even let students learn their own fonts. Where should this lead students and calligraphy education? This is not a misunderstanding. What is this?

Personally, I think that regular script, official script, running script, cursive script and seal script can all be used as models of basic calligraphy education, and the key lies in the selection of teachers' posts and their own preferences. You should know the truth of selecting posts, so as to foster strengths and avoid weaknesses. If we can do the same in calligraphy education, we can have a situation of "a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend", and we can better carry forward the ancient traditional art of China calligraphy.
