1. This is Li Shimin's strategy of usurping Taiyuan for Li Shimin. Tang gaozu promised to make him a prince when it was done, but after Tang gaozu established the Tang Dynasty, Li Jian became a prince. After pacifying the world, Li Shimin became famous, and Li immediately joined forces with Li Yuanji to crowd out. Tang Gaozu's indecision also made the decrees of the DPRK and China conflict with each other, which accelerated the confrontation between philosophers.
Li Dage's crown prince knew that he would not surrender to the throne, and thought that he laid the foundation for the establishment of the Tang Dynasty. Therefore, he became more and more suspicious that Li and his fourth brother, Li Yuanji and Qi Wang, ministers of these two factions were in conflict with each other. Lee was poisoned and killed. Among them, the Prime Minister Pei Ji, the counselor Wang Jue, and the East Palace Guard General followed Li and Li Yuanji.
Du Ruhui and Fang were counselors of Qin, while Qin, Duan, Hou and Fang were generals, following Li Shimin. Prime Minister Chen Hechen and his son secretly supported him. The other generals, Li Jing and Xu Shiqi, and the minister, Yu Shiwen, remained neutral. In the ninth year of Wude (626), the Turks invaded the Tang Dynasty. Li Xiang suggested that Li Yuanji should be the commander in chief to go to the Turks. Wang Chang, who served as Cheng Geng (the official in charge of timing) in the Prince's East Palace, has been bought by Li Shimin, the king of Qin, and has become a thorn in Li Shimin's side. He quietly told: "Li wants to control the military forces of the king of Qin and is going to ambush the king of Qin in Kunming Pool." So Li Shimin decided to strike first.
On June 2, 626, near the Xuanwu Gate in Chang 'an Miyagi, the imperial capital, the Crown Prince Li and Yuanji Wang were shot and killed, which is called "the change of Xuanwu Gate" in history. Later, Li and Li Yuanji were killed and removed from the genealogy. Tang gaozu gave the military and political power to Li Shimin, the king of Qin. Three days later (July 5, June 7, 626), Li Shimin was appointed as the Crown Prince. He wrote: "From now on, all military affairs, big or small, will be carried out by the prince, and then listen to the emperor."
On the 9th Jiazi Day in August of Wude (September 4th, 626), Li Yuan abdicated as the emperor's father, and became the Zen master of Li Shimin. Li Shimin ascended the throne as emperor, and the following year he changed his chastity.
2. Why did Li Shimin usurp the throne? As one of the most successful emperors in China, Li Shimin made great contributions to promoting national unity and unification, and was a great national hero. During his reign, he enjoyed peace and prosperity, social stability, economic development and strong military strength. He was the second emperor of the Tang Dynasty, a great strategist, an outstanding politician, a famous theorist, calligrapher and poet in the history of China. Created the Tang Dynasty Empire with the most prosperous economy and the strongest national strength in the history of our country.
Due to the war at the end of Sui Dynasty, the population dropped sharply. In 628 AD, the population of the Tang Dynasty was only 2.9 million. Li Shimin often took the death of the Sui Dynasty as a warning, paid attention to self-restraint, and told his deputy not to be unhappy and stop protesting. Politically, he should let bygones be bygones, learn from others, and govern in an orderly manner. Economically, he is frugal and politically cautious; He also devoted himself to reviving culture and education, so as to stabilize the turbulent situation in the late Sui Dynasty.
Under the rule of Emperor Taizong and Li Shimin, the Tang Dynasty was the largest and only unified Central Plains dynasty without the Great Wall. During the Tang Dynasty, the territory of the west and north exceeded that of China now. After the attack of the East Turkistan and Xue Yantuo in the Tang Dynasty, the son of heaven was honored as Tiankhan by all ethnic groups in Siyi. The Tang Dynasty and the Arab Empire at that time were tied as the most powerful empires in the world, and their reputation spread far and wide overseas, and they had contacts with Asian and European countries. After the Tang Dynasty, many overseas people called China a Tangren.
Li Shimin, the literary martial arts of Emperor Taizong, was talked about because of his self-sufficiency. He has made outstanding contributions to the Chinese nation and people, leaving behind brilliant achievements and spiritual wealth, so he is revered by people. Academic circles have positively affirmed his great talent and great contribution to the history of China.
3. In fact, Li Shimin's death was discovered from the descriptions of some ministers in the Tang Dynasty and the research of some historians later. No wonder it's hard to record. In fact, it is because he took the so-called "longevity medicine", which is also recorded in historical materials. It is said that Hao, assistant minister of Dongtai, once advised the emperor not to take this medicine again.
If such a prosperous emperor died because of taking Dan medicine, it is really difficult to record it in historical materials. In fact, in the prime of life, Li Shimin was too lazy to eat this kind of food. He joined the army as a teenager and is good at riding and shooting. It can also be said that he immediately shot down the world. Six years before his death, he often went out hunting.
However, in the first six years of his death, there was only one record that he went out hunting. From Zhenguan 17, the imperial court was extremely unstable. Because of the rebellion of Prince Li Chenggan, he was deposed and eventually died of depression. Lee Tae and others have been actively preparing for the battle for the Chu army.
In order not to let the princes kill each other, he also exhausted his mind. Coupled with the early years of fighting around, the body also has many hidden diseases. The double blow of body and mind exhausted him. In his later years, Emperor Taizong was seriously ill. At this time, he was an old man in Lian Po, trying to achieve the goal of longevity through Dan medicine.
In the twenty-second year of Zhenguan, Wang Xuance defeated Tianzhu Fu Na Empire and brought back some prisoners. One of them is an alchemist named Rona's mother-in-law, who is said to be 200 years old. There is the law of immortality, which was the savior of Emperor Taizong at that time.
So I began to eat Dan medicine, but these Dan medicines were all extracted from cinnabar, mercury and saltpeter. This is not an elixir at all, but a death-promoting medicine. You may feel good at first, but taking this medicine for a long time will lead to heavy metal poisoning and death. Sure enough, Li Shimin died of illness in less than two months.
In fact, many emperors in history died because of this. Yong Zhengdi in Qing Dynasty also took this kind of Dan medicine, and eventually died suddenly. Ganlong was very angry about this and killed the Taoist priests who made an alchemy for Yongzheng.
